2.2   Actions

Connect a LCT to the Active GEP APUB board and Login

1. Connect a LCT on site to the active GEP APUB board. See chapter "Local Operation and Maintenance" in
How to access an AXE with APG43 (1M) then return to Step 2.

2. Start a Command Prompt Channel from the SAC prompt. Enter the command:

cmd

3. Switch to the new command window, enter the command:

ch -sn <Channel>

Note:
Specify <Channel> according to the printout from the cmd command. For example, if the printout is
"Channel: Cmd0002", <Channel> shall be specified as "Cmd0002".

4. Login as an user with administrative rights.

5. Was it possible to login?

Yes
Go to Step 6

No
Go to Step 31

Block Faulty Board

6. Check which board to block, use command

hwmls

7. Block the faulty GEP APUB board. Use command

hwmblk

8. Wait until the MIA LED is switched on.

Disconnect Cables on Faulty Board

9.

Warning!
Be careful when removing the cables. They are easily damaged.

10. Disconnect the ethernet and external alarms cables from the faulty board in the following order, see Cable
information: GEP.

1 Diconnect SAS-1 on the faulty Board

2 Diconnect SAS-0 on the faulty Board

Note:
It is important that the cables will be reconnected in the same channels (SAS-0 respective SAS-1)
where they were removed from.

Replace Faulty GEP APUB Board

12. Replace the faulty board with the replacement board.

Note:
When you have loosened the faulty board from the cabinet a few millimeters, check that all screws
are loose - they have a tendency to still be connected by a half turn.

Reconnect cables

13. Connect the ethernet and external alarms cables in the following order, see Cable information: GEP:
