INTRODUCTION:

This work contains the study of modal verbs, progressive past, correct writing and
pronunciation applied to our daily lives.
OBJECTIVES:

- Study, understand and apply modal verbs.

- Apply what has been learned in the last progressive subject, to write past times of
our daily life.

- Describe between paragraphs the activities we did last Sunday.

PART 1: After checking the Unit 1 Topic 2: Modal Verbs, write 1
sentences using each one of the following modal verbs regarding
your daily life: can – could – may - must - should - ought to –
have to – need to- had better - would.
Example:
I must go to the doctor because I have a toothache.

1. I have to go to bed early to get up with a lot of energy.

2. I need to study more to get better grades in my university subjects.
3. I have to leave
4. This semester I will learn math.
5. I have to go home early to share more time with my family
6. I could do sport on weekends.
7. We, the students, could write a letter to support all public universities in Colombia.
8. I could work tonight to enjoy the day with my family.
9. You could prepare your work more carefully.
10. I should eat more fruits and vegetables and stop eating tantan sands.
11. Every day, I wake up with the desire to have a good day.

PART 2: According to the topic Past Progressive (Unit 1: Topic 3), each student must
write 10 things you were doing yesterday: Example: I was watching a Netflix series
yesterday.
1. I woke up very early, to go to ciclovia with a cousin, we went to Mondoñedo.
2. I would have arrived at 10 am at my house, but my bike spiked.
3. I took my dog to wash because it was very dirty.
4. I went out to lunch with my family at approximately 3 pm.
5. Then we went to the mall and ate ice cream.
6. I took my son and wife and we went to the movies and saw a movie.
7. We went out with my family to watch the movies around 8 p.m. and we went home.
8. We arrived at the house at eight-thirty at night, my wife and son were very tired and went
to bed, I continued to turn on the computer and do the work pending.
9. I had prepared some fried eggs and a chocolate because I was very hungry.
10. I fell asleep.

PART 3: Write a text about the activities you were doing last Sunday; you can use time.
Use at least two pictures related to your day. You should write three paragraphs:
Example: I was taking my breakfast at home at 7:00 a.m.
- Paragraph 1: In the morning
- Paragraph 2: In the afternoon
- Paragraph 3: At night
Each paragraph must have minimum four (4) sentences and maximum six (6) sentences. It
must have a title, from 220 words to 250 and it is necessary to use and highlight the
following topics:
- Modal verbs
- Past progressive
- When and while

PARAGRAPH 1: Last Sunday I woke up very early and went cycling with my cousin
Nestor, we climbed the loft from a nice patio, we left the beautiful patio at 7 o'clock in the
morning and reached the top of the courtyards, missing a room for 10am. We rested, we
watched the landscape, we had some light breakfast and we went back to our houses.

PARAGRAPH 2: I arrived at my house at 11:30 and I had breakfast with chocolate and
arepa, which my wife had kept for me, I bathed and changed very quickly, my parents were
in the house and we all went to have sea food, delicious by the way I shared a very nice time
with my family, but I had to say goodbye early to attend the laboratories of the unad.

PARAGRAPH 3: Punctual arrival at the headquarters of the Jose Ceslestino Mutis unad,
which had the first laboratory of power electronics, in the classroom 101, when he entered
the classroom there were very few colleagues which we presented formally, the tuto arrived
a little delayed, but explained satisfactorily the activity, which was very interesting and
enriching. I left classes at 5:30 in the afternoon and headed towards my house.
CONCLUSIONS:
- I studied, understood and applied the modal verbs.

- It was correctly applied what was learned in the last progressive theme, to write the
past times of our daily life.

- The activities we did last Sunday were described correctly between paragraphs.
