An Article titled as ‘For the Record’, published on 1.11.2018, in the magazine ‘The Caravan’, of which No. 1 of you is the Editor-in-Chief, Publisher and Printer, has been brought to my notice, which article contains absolutely defamatory and libellous content against my client. It is stated that the said article has been authored by No. 2 of you, as allegedly told to her by No. 3 of you, who claims the content to be her story. 2. At the outset my client states and vehemently denies each and every allegation, claim, averment as false, baseless, malicious, frivolous and totally being fabrication and figment of imagination of No 3 of you, without any cogent proof or evidence. No 1 and 2 have not only thrown caution to winds but have explicitly used a credible platform to further vested and nefarious interest without verifying the contents of allegations ando confronting my client with any evidence of the allegations. . My client is shocked and surprised to read the said article as the contents of the same to the extent they relate to my client are absolutely false and baseless and amounts to grossly irresponsible Journalism. - My client is serving as an Executive Editor, India Today TV. He has been an award winning journalist for the Past 24 years and has risked his life and limb, covering conflict in Kargil, Sierra Leone, Libya, Egypt and counter terror operation both in J&K and North-East. He is also the author of ‘Dateline Kargil’, which is a Nine-Week account from the battle front and ‘Vera Gatha Children’s Comics’ on Param Vir Chakra Awardees. He has written the said series for the National Book Trust, MHRD, free of cost and all the proceeds from the comics are used for the welfare of Jawans in the Indian Army. My client presently is also an Executive Editor, Strategic Affairs, TV Today Network. His hardwork and toil of the past more than 24 years has brought him immense good will and an impeccable reputation of a credible Journalist.
