Introduction: Groups and not individuals are the ideal building blocks for an organization.
The rapid increase of team based organizations suggests that in future it may the effectiveness
of the teams that will lead to organizational success. This course on ‘Managing Group
Dynamics’ will enable future managers, to understand group dynamics and its impact on the
organization.

Learning Objectives:
1. Design and structure the work of teams such that their performance can be maximized
while overcoming the deficiencies of group decision making.
2. Understand power dynamics in the environment, develop your own power bases, and
select appropriate influencing strategies to get things done at the workplace.
3. Understand the characteristics of true leadership, inspire those who work with you, and
enable them to reach their fullest potential.

Learning Outcomes (LO):

LO 1. Enhance the basic understanding of key concepts of the foundations of group behaviour
and select appropriate strategies to get things done at the workplace.
LO 2. Design and structure the work of teams such that their performance can be maximized
while overcoming the deficiencies of group decision making.
LO 3. Enhance the qualitative dimensions of effectiveness in the Student’s leadership
preferences.
