1. What lesson or principle from the lecture have you implemented in your life this week?

3. Describe Jesus’ love for His own. What impresses you about the way He displayed His love to the disciples?

4. What did Jesus mean when He responded to Peter, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their
whole body is clean?” (See Titus 3:4-6; 1 John 1:8-9.) Who in this passage was clean and who was not clean?
Which describes you and why?

THIRD DAY: Read John 13:12-17 and Philippians 2:1-10.


5. Why is Jesus’ action so surprising? What do you learn about humility and service in these passages?

FOURTH DAY: Read John 13:18-30; Psalm 41:9.
  7. Psalm 41:9 describes an experience in David’s life that Jesus says is fulfilled in His life. How does the fulfillment
of Scripture give us confidence to trust Jesus, especially when we experience painful circumstances?

  8. What lessons or warnings do you learn about Satan in this chapter? (See also Luke 22:31; Acts 5:3; 1 Peter 5:8-9.)

  9. Describe the state of Judas’ heart and the time of this event. What warning or guidance do you receive from this?

FIFTH DAY: Read John 13:1-30.


10. What do you learn about Jesus from the way He interacted with Judas, knowing betrayal was certain?

11. Jesus told the disciples they would later understand His washing their feet. What do you think they understood
and applied after Jesus’ death and resurrection? How has your understanding increased of who Jesus is and what
He did?

SIXTH DAY: Read John 13:1-30.


12. What did you learn about Jesus’ requirements of His people in this chapter? How could your group pray for you to
follow Jesus?
