Terminology
- Leading Edge: Top margin, As the value increases, the image moves from top to bottom
with respect to processing(feeding) direction
- Side Edge: Left margin, As the value increases, the image moves from left to right
with respect to processing(feeding) direction

As the value decreases(-0.1 → -5.0), As the value increases(0.1 → 5.0),

Keep in mind the instruction before starting any adjustment

 It is necessary and very important to check if papers are loaded properly in trays
 Most of adjustment could be done by loading paper properly
 It is strongly recommended to adjust in order of Print → Scan → Copy
 i.e. Once one adjusts “PRINT ENGINE” and then “SCAN ENGINE”, “COPY” is
automatically adjusted since “COPY” uses both “PRINT ENGINE” AND “SCAN ENGINE”
 When COPY adjustment is necessary
1. Adjust “PRINT” and “SCAN”. See if still need adjustment for copy
2. Copy all adjustment values from PRINT and paste into COPY. See if still need adjustment for copy
3. Run adjustment for Copy itself

- PRINT ADJUSTMENT > AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT
- AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT prints out a test pattern shown below
- This pattern can be used in order to check how image position adjustment has been affected
- Read all the scale in red boxes
 If all the scales are balanced and shows the same levels, it tells image position is in the
center of the paper
 If one needs to adjust to off the center position, then run the adjustment and read scales to
see how much is moved from the center. (1 scale is 1 mm)

- Read all of scales at both front and back side
- Tell whether the printed image is positioned in the center or not
- Explain how do you know that the printed image is positioned in the center or not
- If the printed image is not located in the center please go through adjustment procedure
to locate it in the center
3. DSDF automatic (2 mins)

- Adjust leading edge in + direction on the front side of paper

 Feeding System Overview
- The feeding system picks up a paper from the cassette or MP tray and transports it to the
machine inside.
- It Mainly consists of the cassette, pick up unit, registration unit, transfer roller unit, Exit unit.

▪ Paper Separation
When the MP paper detection[A] sensor detects paper and the machine gets a MP printing job, the MP
Solenoid[B] drops the pick-up roller[C] onto the top the paper stack on the Mp tray.
This machine uses an friction pad system for feeding paper. The friction between the reverse roller[E]
and friction pad[D] separates a top sheet of paper from the stack.

1) Check all 4 connectors whether the harness is inserted well.

 Trouble Shooting
1. Black paper defection
- If MHV is not working, all of toner could be transferred to OPC from DEV roller because of OPC discharge.
As a result, black paper is printed
2. White Paper print, Developing dark or light
- If MHV, DEV voltage is out of spec, the volume of toner should be changed.
It causes white paper or developing dark or light
3. When it occurred the below image problem, and Contaminated the Rear side of paper
- If THV+ voltage is out of spec, normally toner cannot be transferred to paper.
If THV- voltage is out of spec, cleaning is abnormally working. It causes contamination of rear side of paper
