Good Practises

I am here because I wanted to be here.

No one asked me or had an influence to come here.

I knew it would be a GBM worthwhile to devote my


time to.

The above statement stems from the fact that in an


organisation of roughly 65 people, only __ are sitting
here. An individual's decision to come to the gbm
should not be dependent upon someone or something
else.

If anyone can recall or for those who are new. I wrote at


current members group that, "It has been an (privelege)
learning from it and an honour serving as PRO. Believe
me It sticks with you if you stick with it just long
enough."

We call ourselves a society for exploring ourselves, but


not everyone consents for a GBM.

We have taken IMAGean tag for granted. When asked


for the reasons for not allocating time to GBM,

Everyone has a lame response

So, I felt necessary to talk with you about the GOOD


practices of GBMs because "If we dont plant the right
things, we will reap the wrong things"

Anyone of you who can tell me what goes on as daily


tasks? Thoughts/Riddles/News/Word. What purpose do
you think they serve?

Thoughts are to make sure there is something positive to


cling to and spread in the world
News is to make you aware regarding the world
happenings outside PEC and your engineering
Riddles and Word are there to make you smarter.

So following are some things to be kept in mind from


now.
Note them down!!
1. The shift in GBM should be treated as an act of
"Giving priority to something else before self
development"

2. If GBMs are constrained to be finished rapidly, the


drawback of that is that the reviews of the candidates
are not comprehensive enough and I hereby request an
informal post GBM analysis meet or develop the culture
of giving detailed reviews on personal conversations in
hostels because Success people dont wait for things to
get conducive to get their work done, They just do it.

3. EB can do a session with current 2nd yearites


regarding career counselling and they can allocate
personal coach from 4th year who can guide the
respective students to develop the correct mindset.

4. Regarding the current affairs and word of the day, a


compiled list of questions for the same can be brought
up to increase awareness among the members regarding
social issues which would ultimately help with the
social quotient of the imageans.
4.a. Recent current affairs can be used as topics for
prepared tasks

5. Increase the number of individual activities so that


pressure of performance brings out the best or worst

among us. Even if it is worst, We would only one way
to become better. These activities help in the speech
correction and improvement so that we dont have to
practise for speaking during our interviews.

6. Resume building and Personal Interview workshops.

7. A database to be maintained by EB regarding the


development of the specific individual representing
statistical information over the activities performed by
the individual in the GBM, e.g. debates scores and the
evaluation.

8. Take challenges, Get yourself tested in the roughest


turfs before you are thrown into great jobs.

9. Be presentable, No one, not even us accept tardiness


in terms of uniform.

10. Increase the frequency of GBMs to 20 days, even if


it means less people. Lesser the distractors, More
individual attention and improvement.

11. Everyone should have a diary, and diary means a

ledger in which information imbibed from the meetings
of IMAGES is entered.

Thats all, You may sit at ease now. There is a lot more to
tell but thats reserved for some other day, some other
time.

In the end, Become more managed and time saver and


this habit would take you a long long way! To see the
value of every moment.
