CHAPTER 6: Classroom Language.
It's important to remember that for many students their only contact with an English
language will be through the teacher. Use natural language speaking clearly and Note
too fast and pay particular attention to your intonation and gestures.The students will
often capture the overall meaning.

Using language first in the class: we often wonder about the amount of communicating
we should do in the language first in the classroom.

There are times and situations where language first is the fastest most efficient and most
appropriate form of communication with our students.

Reinforce communication in English between the children by providing them with the
language and insisting in it's using

It's important to spend a little time speaking in Sociocultural topics:

 The teacher must be serious it can have quiet an effect.


 Explain the instructions clearly.
 It is Useful use a mixture of the two languages with older and higher level
students.
 Take into account the translated words and look up for the words in the
dictionary.
 Pause in the keywords and point or use gestures.

Once students are familiar with one form of introduction vary it so that they don't get
too dependent on one special

The students will gradually build up classroom language

Essential classroom English Teacher Language: It's important the teacher uses a clear
amount of instructions.

Student language: they should gradually incorporate expressions of cooperate the group
Interaction.

“Role of Simon”: is an innovate way to break the ice into the class and respect the
classroom rules.

Give the students two or three expressions each week and ask them to learn them.
CHAPTER 7: Sensitisation Activities.
Language awareness Divided in n two groups: 1. Awareness of other languages in
general: when the teacher has in the class several other language speakers in fact the
teacher could divide the class into two groups to keep a collaborative work choosing a
member with another language to teach his/ her classmates

1. Awareness of the English language: It's a process of sensitilisation to let believe


students are able to communicate in English,because it's easy to learn and they
already has an important background of the second language that's English
2. Working with English letters: Teaching the alphabet Activity 5: the activity
pyramid: it consists in build a pyramid with the letters to memorize among
students the sounds of these ones.

Activity 6: secret codes: it consists in write the alphabet on the board with number
followed them and the letters ought to be in cards to be managed among students.

Activity 7: make a bookmark: it consists in write the students' name the first letter too
big , otherwise the rest of the name vertically .

Activity 8: letter classifying. Write a series of words on he board with currently vocab
to be ordered in an alphabetical way by students.

Activity 9: famous telephone numbers Make up a list of artists or sportsmen or women


and their possible telephone numbers

It's really useful to practice numbers and utterances of letters

Activity 10: Sound matching: the teacher provides some copies for students and those

3.1 Helping students to remember vocabulary.

Activity 12: Labelling the classroom: Decide a list of useful classroom objects and write
their names in cards ,then put them in those things.

Activity 13: Classifying words: Classify some words students are studying and apart
two containers or more to classify the words according to the lexical components.

Activity 14: Hidden words: Identify a topic of words to practice and make a grid about
their syllables to be recomposed by students to make new words.
Activity 15: Dominoes: It's a useful tool to recognise words and their spelling.

Activity 16: Anagrams: are words where the letters have been rearranged.

Activity 17: Card games:put the cards face up on the table to be used by asking
questions.

Activity 18: Word chains: Draw a snake or rope to fill some gaps in them ,putting the
key letters to form words.
