ADDRESSED

ANTICIPATORY SET Introduce the lesson by informing them that we are going to make this into a
competition and we are going to learn all about directions

LESSON Directionality
Look at this line. See the green dot on one end and the red arrowhead on the other
I DO: end. The arrow shows me the direction to go. The red and green dots are like a
stoplights. Put your pointer finger on the green dot. I slide it along the line in this
direction toward the red arrowhead.
This time I’ll move my finger and you’ll answer with me.
WE DO:
Which hand should I use? Which finger should I use? Where should I put my finger?
Which direction should I slide my finger?

YOU DO: Now it’s your turn. This time you’ll move your finer and answer. Use the same general
questions as previously stated.
CLOSURE/summarize Have them become the teacher to just verify that they understood what was being
taught. Tally up all the points.

For this particular lesson it’s hard to differentiate it. The best way I could think of doing
DIFFERENTIATION it was by creating a competition and then having them teach me.

95% Group Paper and Directions 95% Group Paper Overall, I feel the lesson went
Magnet Pictures well. Something I need to get
Paper Pictures better at is engaging the
Mat students. I could tell they were
easily distracted and disengaged.
