FOOD NUTRITION

The nutrition is a substance needed as a source of living things energy.

 There are four classes of essential nutrients: essential amino acids, essential fatty acids,
vitamins, and minerals.
 Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins required in large amounts, while the vitamins and minerals
needed by the body in slight amount.
 Carbohydrates, fat, protein, and vitamins are organic nutrients that contains carbon. In
contrast, inorganic nutrients such as water and minerals does not contain carbon.
 Foods that contain carbohydrates, fats, and protein needs to be digested first before it is
absorbed by the body. While water, vitamins, and minerals to be absorbed directly by the
body's cells.
 Carbohydrates are the main source of energy
for your body. One gram of carbohydrates to produce 4.0 to 4.1 kilocalories (kcal).
Three types of carbohydrates are sugars, starches, and fiber
 Fat or lipid is needed by the body to provide energy by 9 kilocalories / gram; dissolving
vitamin A, D, E, K and can provide essential fatty acids for the human body. During the
process digestion, fat is broken down into smaller molecules, which are fatty acid and
glycerol.
 Protein is needed as an energy producer. Protein also serves to growth and replace cells
damaged body, and enzyme maker hormones, as well as antibody-forming. Proteins are large
molecules consists of a number of amino acids. The protein you eat may come from animals
(animal protein) and plants (vegetable protein). Food that contains protein include meat, fish,
eggs, milk, and cheese. While food that contain vegetable protein is soy beans, green beans,
and other beans.
 Vitamin is important for our body because it is needed to regulate the body function and
prevent some diseases. Vitamins are grouped into two categories, which are; water-soluble
vitamins (vitamin B and C) and fat-soluble vitamins
(Vitamins A, D, E, and K).
 Your body needs about 14 kinds of minerals, including calcium, phosphorus, potassium,
sodium, iron, iodine, and zinc. Minerals are low in nutrients
carbon atoms.
Mineral is needed for cell development process, helping reaction chemistry of the body,
carries oxygen throughout the body, and the formation and maintenance of bones.
