A: Explain the main concept of Applied Linguistics as a language - related


problem–solving approach. Analyse and explain the relationships between
Psycho- ,Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics and Education.

performance in the teaching of EFL/ESL.

language as well as from the English language.

b. Read and study the corresponding information in the didactic guide (Units
1 and 2). You may also consult the Internet or any other reliable source.

c. Provide your own definition of Applied Linguistics and give examples of
its applications in general.
d. Explain why Applied Linguistics is knowns as a language related problem-
solving approach. Give concrete examples that illustrate your explanation.
(2 – 3 examples minimum)
e. Specify the applications of linguistics regarding education. Provide
practical examples of applications of linguistics in the class room. (1 -2
examples minimum)
f. State the importance of Applied linguistics in EFL teaching. Provide valid
reasons that prove your explanation.

g. Describe the main points of Sociolinguistics and Psycholinguistics.


h. Explain how and in what way Socio- and Psycholinguistics are related

achieve the best results in teaching- learning process.
j. Use terminology of the course.
