PSIII TEACHING INTERNSHIP- SEPT. 2018-DEC. 2018
Grade 4 at Nellie McClung Elementary School, Calgary, Alberta- Teacher Mentor: Kathleen Milliken-Morrow
· Planned and taught all science and social units from September to December.
· Planned and taught gym for both grade four classes. Taught some math classes.
· Evaluated and assessed all student work for science and social.
· Participated in all school activities and staff meetings. Professional development sessions focused ELL,
and Gifted and Talented Learners.
· Assessed the monthly math challenges for the school.
· Planned and taught 5/6 math, science and physical education, and 1/2 art.
· Observed art and music classes of all grades
· Helped prepare, set-up and run the Holiday Concert for the entire school
· Plan and implement effective programs for campers with ADHD and/or a learning disability.
Coordinate other employees and assign tasks for each program. Act as a liaison for campers, parents
and staff.
· Work in a three to one ratio with campers who have ADHD and/or a learning disability. Plan and
implement social skill programming for the campers. Be in charge of camper’s meals and activities
throughout the day. Work to develop campers’ social skills and problem solving through various
activities.
· Work one on one with students and assist them with different subject areas. Schedule and time manage
different sessions. Record and create session reports for each session, describing what was covered in
the session and the growth of the student. Become experienced in the curriculum of various subject
areas and the different difficulties that arise with those subjects.
· During High School, I volunteered to work at Kamp Kiwanis for a week. I worked with a group of
campers and helped them with their day to day activities. Organize and lead a variety of group activities
throughout the week.
