Summary/Reflection of My Classroom Management
This is my very first year as a contracted teacher, so I feel my classroom management is alright, but it could be
better because I feel very “novice”. What I have learned from my other classes I have taken at UNLV is to make sure
students know what is expected of them and to establish set procedures right away. Therefore, I made sure on the first
day of school to already lay out the classroom procedures, expectations, and goals. I believe I have a solid foundation,
but I still struggle with my 9th grade regular classes (4th period in particular). Even though students know my rules
and set procedures, many students are still not following the rules. It feels as if the overall culture at the school I am
teaching at, students do not care for their education. Students have a hard time with respect and I feel as if I have to
constantly refocus students. I am wondering what more I can do to motivate students and have them be focused on
their education

I know it is only the sixth week of school, so I am wondering if I need to just continue my set procedures or
start establishing and implementing new types of classroom management policies/procedures? However, overall, I
believe I have a solid foundation and solid guidelines in place in my classroom. I am looking forward to hearing
feedback for LeBeau and my fellow peers! Thanks!
