Childcare Providers Eligible
for Meal Reimbursements

Rainbow Fleet Child Care
Resource and Referral is par-
ticipating in the Child and
Adult Care Food Program
(CACFP). Any licensed child
care providers who serve
nutritious meals and snacks
may be eligible for federal
reimbursement.

Agriculture’s Child and Adult
Care Food Program is

federal program’s Oklahoma
administrator. The federally-
funded child nutrition pro-
gram helps children receive
the nutrition they need by
reimbursing child care
providers for serving meals
and snacks that meet federal
requirements.
Reimbursement rates
range from $2.48 for a
lunch/dinner to $.20 for a
snack. Caregivers are
required to record menus,
enrollment and attendance. A
provider can claim up to
three meals per child per day.
“Every family child care
facility that is licensed by the
Department of Human
Services is eligible for this
free nutrition program,” said
Williams. “Our staff at
Rainbow Fleet will be avail-
able to help child care
providers fill out their appli-

cations. Once an application
is accepted, we’ll be able to
work on compliance issues
that range from creating a
balanced menu to food sanita-
tion and preparation with the
provider.”
