1. About
This is a leveling guide for Asmodians playing on EU servers (with EU translations). The last update
was made in July 2017 to match patch 5.5 content. This guide is written to match with the experience
requirements. The whole project started in 2013 and it has been revamped for several times. You
don't need to purchase any experience boost items or gold pack to level up from 1 to 65 by following
this guide. It has been tested with all classes with and without gold pack. The last test run with this
guide is from December 2016 with gunner (gold pack) and in October 2016 with cleric, ranger and
gladiator (no gold pack).
It's such a shame that I don't have any copy from the original guide for leveling in patch 2.5-4.0.
However, I can tell you without showing any evidence that the leveling experience has changed
drastically. Campaigns used to be scattered and be less rewarding than what they are now. Leveling
was stuck on patch 2.0. It wasn't horrible grind like in 1.5 since experience requirements got nerfed but
it was still all over the place. The leveling experience I had inspired me to start working on this guide.
In Patch 3.0 era (KR 2011-2012, EU 2012-2013) leveling was mainly about grinding instances and
certain repeatable coin quests for gear. Leveling between 20-25 and 40-45 used to be ”major grind”
since there was no good quests to do.
In patch 4.0 era (KR 2012-2015, EU 2013-2016) leveling got a major overhaul. New key quest system
made leveling more linear and work more like in Blade & Soul which was a welcome change. New
purple event quests also boosted experience gain and made grouping worth your time. In patch 4.7
some quests and old campaigns got removed from the game. All new characters started to follow
Aethertech's storyline funnily enough. The problem with this was that NCSoft forgot to add new quests
to replace lost experience. There was almost 10 levels of experience missing in low level maps (25-35)
and people had to grind Fire Temple. Level 55-65 suffered greatly from a similar issue as NCSoft
decided to remove Danaria/Katalam/Sarpan/Tiamaranta maps from the game in order to revive open
world PvP. They did add new quests but still there was up to 7 levels worth of experience missing.
Players had to spam Tiamat's Fortress, Rentus Base and Beshmundir Temple with experience
amulets.
All of these problems got finally fixed when they lowered experience requirements between levels 1-65
and added new quests to low level maps in 5.0. Sadly because of this the storytelling isn't coherent at
all. To be honest, it never was. If you're interested in the lore, Internet is good place to look up for
backstories and old cinematics. Later on you can visit some old locations for old standard quests if you
wish to feel the breath of the past.
Nosra/Esterra part of the guide is based on my own personal experience and few guidelines I've seen
around Internet. I also did some field tests with friends to check what is the most efficient way for
leveling. Don't stress too much about getting to 75 because it's going to take months if not years
without experience boost items. You should be able to do majority of the content once you've reached
level 70.
The author is nearly a hopeless altoholic from Deyla that has been playing Aion since 2011. She
made her first alt character only few weeks after starting the game and has both characters still
hanging around.
2
Majority of the quests are linked to Aion Database or similar website for backtracking.
When you log in to the game for the first time, give a good look into the options and
get familiar with the UI. The quest tracker alone should help you a lot to find correct
locations for the quest targets.
I heard that I can get free leveling aid for my character? How do I get all the
goodies?
There are 2 types of leveling aid for Aion. Faction based surveys and normal leveling
aid quest (usually purple). Surveys will appear as a scroll icon next to your skill bar.
Aid quests you can get from NPC called Edanos. Edanos can be found from all of the
main fortresses and from Pandaemonium.
3
Here is a spreadsheet for all of the quests Edanos gives including the levels required
to do them:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1S9686IM2ateN6FU-HDpNYqHs1RinLbgrl9
NiA5b7jUk/pubhtml
You can get 1 random hero/fabled grade stigma for your class by completing a quest
for Makarna at L65 or higher. Garden of Knowledge has a chance to drop a stigma
bag from the sun crystal chamber (near Piton). You can also get a stigma bag every
week from Arena of Challenge. Also random bosses in Arkhal and Kroban have been
confirmed to drop a stigma bag with a random chance.
4
Most mounts are from events and Aion store. However, there are few you can get
without buying Aion coins. Every mount takes 1 slot from your inventory so in general
it's not a good idea to owe more than 1.
Sharptooth Lumen – Speed 12.8 – Tiamat's Fortress. You need to kill all bosses to
spawn a big box in a garden. You can also purchase similar mount from NPC in
same instance, but it's going to take 38 runs or so.
Pagati Veyron – Speed 12.6 – Rentus Base (normal mode).
Sharptooth Airspike/Sharptooth Bloodletter – Speed 12.4/12.7 – Crafted by
master Handicrafts. The box it comes from can be purchased from broker.
Crestlich Cito - Speed 11.9 – Hatched from an egg that can be purchased from
housing area merchants (you need to own a house). The mount hatched from the
egg is usually 30 days version and very rarely a permanent. Can be purchased from
broker.
War Horse of The Legion of Honour – Speed 12.0. Can be purchased from level 8
legion merchant for 364 legion coins. You can only use this mount when you're in
5
(any) legion.
Waveform Surfrider – Speed 12.0 – Drops from world boss in Pernon (Agrints)
Airskim Surfrider – Speed 11.4 – Purchased from Pernon for 57 million kinah.
Blue Surfrider – Speed 10.8 – Purchased from Pernon for 11 million kinah. This is a
REALLY slow mount and some players can catch you by running.
Just in case you haven't noticed there are also some mounts available for Conquest
Tokens in Gelkmaros. The prices are quite salty but there is also 4560 token box
that contains any Conquest Token mount randomly.
Where is PvP?
Open world PvP is nearly non-existing before lvl 60. There are rifts to enemy
territories occasionally here and there but chances are you won't find opponents.
Most of the PvP is located in the endgame maps/instances.
Kamar Battlefield (12v12), Jormugand's Marching Route (6v6), Steel Wall Bastion
Battlefield (24v24) and Runatorium (6v6) are available after level 60.
Neviwind Canyon can be entered from the icon with 2 banners next to the action bar
if you’re L66 or higher. It’s 96v96 mass PvP map that has objectives like killing
bosses and collecting resources. This battlefield is open 24/7 with unlimited entries.
What are sieges and when do they start? When Dredgion is open?
https://timetable.aioninfo.eu/
Sieges are RvR content that occur on different days and times. All of the current
sieges are basically ”capture a castle” types of games that require whole faction to
participate in order to capture fortresses. Capturing a fortress rewards participants
with medallions and honor points and the conquering legion (or usually the BG of the
legion) gets extra benefits such as extra daily HP and some unique items.
Fights are usually fought between Asmodian and Elyos and Balaur (AI controlled
faction that exists to spice the things up). In Pangea siege however, the siege can be
6
fought against same faction from other server.
Keep in mind that magical classes can also have physical abilities and vice versa.
Physical classes benefit mainly from Critical Hit, Attack, Accuracy. All physical
classes will need Magical Accuracy in order to perform magic based stuns and
debuffs. However, don’t socket Magical Accuracy as a physical class before you
actually know your class well enough.
You can block only if you’re wielding a shield. The amount of damage blocked is
related to shield’s damage reduction stat. Block is capped to 50% (500 more block
than your enemy’s accuracy).
You can parry with greatsword, staff, polearm, sword, dagger, mace. Parry is capped
to 40%. Evasion is capped to 30%. With some certain class skills players can
perform 100% parry, evasion, block and magic resist.
Magic Resist gives you a calculated chance to resist any magical ability. It’s capped
to 50% (500 more Magic Resist than your enemy’s Magical Accuracy). All of the
abilities have also their own separated Accuracy and Magical Accuracy stat that
either increases or decreases their chance to succeed.
Elemental Defence reduces damage dealt to you by certain type of magic based
abilities. Fire defense will reduce damage taken from fire spells etc.
Magic Suppression will reduce your enemy’s magic boost effect on you in 1:1 rate.
Check damage formula in Aion if you’re interested to get more deep into this.
Strike Resistance/Crit spell resistance will reduce chances to land a critical hit.
Strike Fortitude and Spell Fortitude will reduce the damage taken from a critical hit.
7
Magical Attack adds white damage (auto attack damage) to classes that can deal
magical auto attacks.
Healing Boost boost the effect of the healing spells. Healing boost doesn’t affect on
skills that heal a fixed amount and it doesn’t boost the effect of the recovery items. 10
points of healing boost adds 1% to the healing skill.
Most crafts are nearly useless as in 5.3. With alchemy you can make still some useful
scrolls and with tailoring/armorsmithing/weaponsmithing/handicrafting some unique
skins but otherwise, don’t bother unless you’re a perfectionist. Magical crafting is
somewhat useful but really expensive to craft and definitely not something you want
to focus on while leveling.
Most foods and potions are easy to get from doing quests or from new high daeva
morphing recipes. You can purchase all of these designs from Nosra with Ancient
Coins.
Example:
If you’re cleric and need magic resist food all you need to do is to repeat few 60 kill
quests in Nosra to get lower grade magic resist food and upgrade it higher grade with
morphing.
Gear switch macro can be found from opening profile (P) and clicking button
“Equipment Set Settings” under your character’s portrait.
Skill macros can be found from the last tab of the skills (K). This macro system will
not autocast your skills but instead it will put them into queue in same skill bar slot.
8
1.2 Pandaemonium
Light blue wings on a map are fast travel points that can be used for teleporting to
their location. Teleport cost is fairly cheap and cd is low.
Vifrost Bridge
Here is Located all of the main teleporters to Balaurea and Asmodea. You can also
find a teleport statue to Marchutan Priory and Covenant of Marchutan here.
Market street
Here you can find <General Goods Merchant> Nekai that has lots of useful items to
sell.
Gender Switch NPC is located between Market Street and Apellbines Tavern.
Temple of Gold
Broker and Warehouse are located here.
Apellbine Tavern
You can purchase various emotes and motions here.
Prosperity Road
10
Here you can purchase various costumes and change appearance of your character
(mainly hair and skin color, also plastic surgery NPC is located here).
Temple of Artisans
A crafting area.
Legions Board
You can purchase legion items here or find or disband a legion. You can find per
merchants and pet minder next to this building. If your faction has conquered a
fortress in Pangea siege, here will appear a portal to Pangea (lvl 65 PvP map).
Triniel Coliseum
Free for all PvP arena.
Grinding isn't necessary faster way to level up but more convenient for making alts.
11
Luna Shop is a new feature added in patch 5.1. It's used for acquiring various
costumes and housing items. It's mainly meant to be a cash grab but with patience
there are few things you can get free from it. Luna Instances give nice amount of
nearly free exp. You'll get the most out of it from level 40 to level 70. You can enter
to Luna Shop from Purple Moon Crescent icon next to the Action Bar.
Hell's Pass is a daily reset instance and it's a base defend type of minigame.
Your goal is to protect your base by using artilleries. If you get S rank you’ll
receive a superior bundle that can include all-powerful-enhancement-stone
and with weekly quest you can acquire a level reduction stone.
2 Ishalgen (1-10)
A. Grinding way
Levels 1-3
● Grind mobs until you enter Aldelle Village
● Do following key quests: Sibling Rivalry and Irreconcilable Siblings (for kinah)
● Complete event quest: [Event] Just One New Thing (get free item from store
for experience amulets)
Levels 3-4
● Kill all mobs on the way o Munihele Forest
● Use teleport statue to Anturoon Crossing
Levels 4-9
● Kill Karnifs until you hit 6 and after that grind undead mobs and sparkles on
top of the map until you hit 9.
● Mobs with orange name give more experience than yellow or white. Rusty
Threehand is a world boss at Ishalgen Prison Camp and it gives around 1000
exp. points per kill.
● At 9 go to Munin and start Ascension quest.
13
B. Questing way
Prologue
On Your Feet
A Bloody Task
The Sprigg Report
Meeting the Fruit Quota
Vanar's Flattery
Order of the Captain
Thinking Ahead
The Shinier the Better
A New Skill
Sibling Rivalry
Irreconcilable Siblings
Where's Rae
Treasure of the Deceased
A Charmed Cube
Teaching a Lesson
Hit Them Where it Hurts
Ascension
Once you’ve ascended you should get a free set of gear in a box. This set will
be everything you need until L65. Don’t bother to grind any other set during
leveling as it’s waste of time.
14
3 Altgard (10-22)
4 Morheim (21-35)
Optional Quests:
Irresistible Soup - for fun not good exp
At level 21 or so you can go to Pandemonium and star a quest chain for your own
Studio
[Housing] Give My Regards to Pernon
Logging out in a studio will help make your character feel rested and recover Energy
of Repose faster. With Energy of Repose charged you gain more experience from
quests and killing mobs.
Studio is the free housing type in Aion and every character can have one. You can
decorate studio and also use it for gaining consumable items and gear skins with
questblooms. You can even rent your own Warehouse and General Goods NPCs for
your house(there is also a mail box but it works only if you have your own yard). Later
you can purchase other types of residences from House Auction if you got kinah and
patience because there is limited amount of houses in Pernon.
If you're not into housing that is just fine, just log out there for faster leveling.
20
This is free 285k experience so take it. If you haven't noticed yet the game is hinting
you to find a group for NTC so keep your eyes open on LFG for instance groups. If
you got a gold pack you can also try to make your own party. If you're still not able to
go NTC you can continue questing:
this quest seems to be bugged, I was only able to get this from rookie server after
level 26 so go there if u can't see this on Morheim map. This will lead to following key
quests:
Why the Fish Aren't Biting
A Seafood Fest
If you still didn't hit 27, go to the Desert Garrison and pick up some standard quests.
21
I recommend doing this chain because it's interesting and a good source of
experience:
Octanu’s Lair + Arachna Egg → Millenium Eka + An Eggs-acting Quest
Use fast travel back to the Desert Garrison.
With these quests you should be able to hit level 27. New key quests will pop up at
Desert Garrison and also a campaign so go there and bind to the Obelisk.
When you go to the desert watch out for the world boss King Consierd , he will one
shot you on sight (I died while trying to take a picture of him, he is just a bully elite
grade).
Just by the way, the shape of monster HP bar will tell you their grade and the dot
amount difficulty.
Neutral monsters have usually yellow/green dots instead of white ones (also they
appear as white dots in the radar) but don't get fooled by that. If you attack them by
accident they will defend themselves, well most of them anyway.
Once you finish all of the quests above you'll hit level 28.
22
yet.
When you're doing the campaign (the part where you need to enter Ice Claw Village)
follow the red path on the map and be careful. They removed most of the elites but
there are still some and you don't want to fight them. Wait for flag spawn and kill them
until you have the quest done. When you reach the bridge (yellow path) there
shouldn't be more elites on your way and you can kill the mobs without a problem.
23
In case you were wondering, there is a short cut to the statue after the bridge but that
elite mob on the hill hits quite hard and you got a long run if you die on it (there are
also hidden elite assassin near the bridge if you're considering about kiting).
Kill the quest mob and use return. Hand in the quests and use scroll to Morheim
Fortress. Start new campaign and use fast travel/retreat to get back to Desert
Garrison. From there, fly to the Slag Bulwark and bind the the Obelisk.
Opens at 29:
To The Fire Temple
Nosy Braghests
Obscured Vision
Oculazen Irises
A Foul Stench
A Quota of Creatures
A Prized Posession
The Last Piece of the Puzzle
Sky Temple is annoying place but there are few videos on YouTube that can teach
you how to make shortcuts (if you glider properly you can finish all 3 rooms in less
than 10 min).
24
You can complete Huron's Letter which you get automatically at 30.
You're getting a strong hint that you should find yourself a group for Fire Temple
instance.
Option 1.
Mob grinding at Fire Temple. Basically you'll grind this place until level 35.
Option 2.
After doing these quests you should hit 31 and more quests will be available:
Harvesting Tripeed → Tripeed Monster
The Know it All
Death Threat
After returning following pick up these and go up to the Red Lava Cliff:
A Friend in Need
War of the Worgs
A Picky Eater → A Dish for Dukar
5 Beluslan (35-46)
Geez, about time to get a new campaign. Return or fly to Alsig Village from there
continue to Morheim Observatory. Bind here now.
27
If you didn't hit 37 at this point feel free to do some of the standards quests (or
Luna instances) at Morheim Observatory.
You can start [Instance] Suspicious Errand at level 37 which used to be a prequest
to Kromede’s Trial. Now it's not really required but gives nice amount of experience.
This chain continues with
[Instance] Nighmares and Dreamescapes
Fly to the Red Mane Cavern and from there take a flight path to Camp Kistenian.
Pick up all of the blue quests and get ready for instance grind.
28
Clear everything for couple runs. KT drops also rather unique skins so if you're
interested you should look for a full fledged guide for Kromede's Trial.
29
Once you get out of the prison after being captured, make sure you loot this chest
after defeating key keepers. It gives you a temporary item that causes a heavy area
of effect stun. This item will save your bum quite many times when you chain pull
mob by accident. Mobs reset easily so if you pull more mobs that you can handle,
you can just use beads to stun them and run away.
Last boss Kaliga has 2 possible appearances depending on if you decide to kill his
followers or not. If you let Kaliga's followers live you will spawn a stronger version of
Kaliga which might be bit tricky to take down as a melee. I'm always trying to find
shortcuts in every instance so I usually kill Lady Angerr (located in Angerr's Bedroom)
since she is the weakest of the trio and rush to the boss room once done with quests.
30
Take a note that you can't fight mini bosses on your 1st run. Instead you'll fight a
weaker Kaliga by default. 1 run is roughly 0,5-1 level so this will be really fast. If you
want to reset KT, just change between main and rookie server. Yes, this is brain
numbing boring but it's the most efficient way for experience. Average run with all of
the quests will take about 20 minutes (with couple trains because mobs get chain
pulled easily). You might be faster or slower depending on your gear and class.
Once you hit level 41 you can forget this instance forever (until you make your next
toon).
Icy Kurngalfelberg
Frozen Ghosts
Misdirected Letter (finish this when going for next campaign)
Collapsing Fortress (at Beluslan Fortress)
Investigate the father's disappearance (check Missing Father from YouTube)
For the Campaign you can take a significant shortcut by using a teleport near
Southgate
At 45 you can start the campaign quest for the Abyss.
Prophecy of Ancient times is really good exp but lots of effort also. You need to
complete Secret Library Access and have Artefact Activation Stone which you
can craft with Alchemy (199 or higher + 1500 ap for the design) or purchase from the
broker. This item is quite expensive for your level so chances are you can't even
complete this.
33
Optional Instance Quests for easy experience (can be picked up from Beluslan
Fortress/Brusthonin Village/Pandemonium/NPCs at instance entrances)
Draupnir Cave:
Spying Out Draupnir Cave (Opens at 45 from Nerita at Beluslan Fortress, free 6kk
experience)
[Progress] Eliminate the Balaur in the Draupnir Cave
[Progress] Eliminate the Spirit in the Draupnir Cave
[Progress] The Way to Beritra's Oracle
[Progress] Eliminate Brigade General Yavant
[Progress] Eliminate Instructor Akbar (level 40 and 46)
[Progress] Eliminate Saraswati (level 40 and 46)
[Progress] Eliminate Lakshmi (level 40 and 46)
[Progress] Eliminate Commander Nimbarka (level 40 and 46)
[Instance/Group] Judishtira's Weapon
[Instance/Group] Corrupted Offspring
34
[Instance/Group] Destroying the Balaur Weapons
Optional: Adventure Stories (rep)
6 Brusthonin (46-50+)
Depending on the server you're playing on, this is quite valuable item and fast kinah.
However, if you don't have a gold pack and want to level up fast I would consider
about using them on yourself instead (save for later, don't use now!).
36
Unlike every other quest, these event quests don't get shown on the map so you
need to click mob names on the quest to reveal their location. Also, these quests are
more or less bugged so you might have to kill 2x amount of the mobs required to get
updates.
Depending on how many instance quests you picked you should be around 47,5-48
by now. You can backtrack a bit and do some instances or regular quests you
missed or you can try your luck with Brusthonin.
Option 1.
Porgus Roundup
Heirnir Wants To Rest → Something for Heirnir
Mission of the Reaper's Squad
Alas Poor Groznak
Unusual Ingredients
Abandoned Mithril
Warehouse Keeper's Greed
A Light Through The Trees
A Bribe For The Chieftain → I Wanna Pecku → The Bribed Chieftain (BuBu
Village)
A Thing for Ginseng (BuBu Village)
Lost Gift (BuBu Village, the box is located in the downstream of the waterfall, not in
the Iollu Forest lake)
Jackdaw's Request → Captain's Hat (Carobian Coast)
Lost Compass (Carobian Coast)
Petrahulk: Smash! → Contamination Sample (West from Baltasar Hill Village)
[Instance] The Dark Place (opens at 48 from Baltasar Hill Village)
Meet Surt (opens at 46 from Beluslan Fortress, return this when you happen to go
back to Baltasar Village)
At 48 you can enter to Dark Poeta and do some quite nice quests there for
experience.
At this point I already did hit 50 and I didn't even finish all of the content I listed here.
Chances are that you didn't which is probably because you didn't do any of the
38
progress (instance) quests. There are still some quests left in Brusthonin so feel free
to go there if you really want to avoid dungeon grinding. However, there is no
continuity left so you'll run around a lot.
7 Gelkmaros (51-60+)
After completing quests above bind to Gelkmaros Fortress and start with quests
around Gelkmaros Fortress:
Support in Gelkmaros
next to high priestess Ageha is a key quest which you also should pick
Entering the Crucible
39
This teleport statue in Pandemonium can take you to either Convent of Marchutan
or Marchutan Priory. Convent of Marchutan used to be a place of skill trainers,
now you can buy mainly lvl 50-60 Abyss items, Abyss consumables and stigmas. In
Marchutan Priory exists NPCs for 55-65 PvP equipment, Arena entrances, Hall of
Fame and entrance to Pangea siege and Brusthonin/Theobomos invasions.
Travel to Gelkamors (bind here) through the campaign quest and pick up following
quests:
40
Support in Gelkmaros
Cleaning Out Leftovers
The Leader of the Drak
Missing Pieces
Ipse's Ambition
Helping Hand
Vyuin's Orders
We Are Bees We Hate You → Truth Behind the Bees
Reinforcing the Bulwark
Use the wind stream from Gelkmaros fortress to travel to Aether Research Group
Campsite.
41
Green dots indicate important bosses. Blue dot is the last boss (after you've killed the
Queen Mosqua, break the egg in the middle and use stream to fly up to Taloc's
Heart). Growth quests will give a free reset scroll for Taloc's Hollow so you don't have
to wait a full day to enter again if you missed something.
Nelith drops Dorkin's Pocket Knife that you'll need to enter to Dorkin's Nook behind
the waterfall at Taloc's Tears. Take The Lost Tome quest from Dorkin (tome is
located next to Celestius which is the last boss)
43
After this you can go and defeat Queen Mosqua. After this break the egg in the
middle of the nest and use wind stream to fly up to the hidden boss room and
confront Celestius.
Completing all the listed quest in Taloc's Hollow should give you 1 level worth of
experience points.
Option 1.
You can stop questing asap if you want to. Beshmundir Temple on normal mode is
great experience in small groups or on solo. The entrance is located inside Silentra
Canyon where you can enter from the portal icon located between fortresses in
Gelkmaros. This instance is best done with full energy repose and an experience
amulet. Take a note here than soloing BT is quite hard for melee classes and it might
be actually faster to keep doing quests.
BT gives best experience between levels 53-56 and after that it's probably better to
start questing again unless there is XP event going on (and you can afford 200%
amulets and recovery teas).
Option 2.
Mandatory:
Destroying the Device Parts
Selling Salvage
Unity
Chenkiki's Enemies
Cowering Refugee
Sweeping the Ruins
44
The Destroyed Gargoyle is on 1st floor of the Coliseum. You can glide down all the
way to the correct room if you jump from the cliff located west from Subterranean
Observation Post.
When you enter Lost City of Marayas (use a teleport statue next to Flight Transport
at Gelkmaros Fortress) make sure to take following:
Attack Preparations
Useless Regret
Reian Incorporeal Phantoms
Valuable Crystal
Rise of Living Stone
Poisoned Fungi
Aether's Attraction
Balaur Minions
Basic War Tactics
Arango's Strategem
Taking Initiative
45
After this use fast travel to Subterranean Observation Post and travel to
Dragonrest.
Balaur Engineering
Balaur Anatomy
Research on Tiamat's Power (use a wind stream, stones are on floating rocks)
Researcher's Dilemma → It's Research, Not Plagiarism!
Balaur Architecture
46
At this point you still can keep doing quests in Gelkmaros if you wish so. Those
standards quests I listed right above are good experience with medium effort. You
can also grind BT nm between questing if you happen to be playing a class that can
solo or duo it.
47
Try to get rid of the mindset that Vengar is 55+ content. There is no enough quests to
do to get to 65. Make sure you're at least level 60 before you start questing here.
This is because there is nowhere near enough content to level up you from 55 to 65.
Not even with fixed XP rates.
You can use teleport statues to the new garrisons and from following locations:
If you find yourself stuck at any point, the best thing to do at this point is to return
Gelkmaros and check if you left any quests behind. Rentus Base (nm) has some
quests that give good experience if you repeat them. Last resort here would be
Beshmundir Temple.
The 1st quest can be repeated 2,5 times per run and it gives 9 million XP each time.
2nd quest can be repeated 1,5 times and it also gives 9 million XP. So if you got 3
runs for Rentus Base you'll make around 108 million XP points (level 65 requires 133
million XP) . 1 run takes around 20 minutes.
48
Ruins Troublemakers
Modification Masters
Algae Research
Aquan Weapon
Homesickness
Experiments with Valor Seeds
Aetheric Field Stones (Requires level 59 but most of the blue quests open at 60)
The Spirit → Thirst for Vengeance
Appetite for Meat
Undead Drakan
49
This section is mainly aimed for those that are new to Aion and don't have any gear
from previous patches.
Unlike any other region there isn't any ”exact” way for leveling since the amount of
experience required for each level increases rapidly after 67. Grinding and patience
is the key here. Your goal from now on isn't to hit level 75 in day or two but becoming
a higher level will help you a lot during your gearing progress.
From now on you should start gearing up because better gear equals faster grind.
Also new instances are bit harder than what you're used to so you'll need equipment
for that also.
51
New mobs will drop eternal and mythical grade gear that is mostly useless and meant
to be extracted for new materials (new fluxes, elemental stones and manastones are
nice source for income and also required for morphing new items). However, if you
drop a mythical item and you're not sure if it's good or not, it's better to ask someone
else if this is worth selling. There are some really good weapon drops in
Nosra/Esterra that are worth good kinah.
Once you hit 66 the 1st thing you want to do is to hoard lots of Ancient Coins.
They are like new kinah now and used for anything from new gear to purchasing
morphs and other useful stuff. Morphing is actually a very old profession for making
raw materials in previous patches but now it's mainly used for creating new level 70
gear (and some potions/foods but those recipes aren't worth it). Once you've become
a high daeva you can buy new morphing recipes from Azphel's Temple.
Upper Abyss weeklies, Balaurea Research Center, Runadium, Lost Refuge and few
other fetch quests are also good sources for these coins. Also some hero grade
mobs in Nosra and Esterra have chance for dropping few. If you infiltrate Esterra and
hold Elyos garrison for a while, guards will start to drop Ancient Coins too. Everytime
you do Vengar quests on your alts, you'll receive around 1100 Ancient Coins from
questing. You can also trade Battle Marks from Upper Abyss to Ancient Coins in
Kaldor.
Upper Abyss weeklies from Tokanu Landing (entry from Vengar and Nosra):
[Weekly] Hitonium Clumps
[Weekly] Hitonium Shards
[Weekly] Hitonium Fragments
[Weekly] Destruction of the Ereshkigal Legion
[Weekly] Underground Squad in the Ruins of Roah
[Weekly] Underground Squad in Lake Asteria

Low tier:
Katalamize/Hyperion gear – It's only good if you get the full set, same goes with
accessories.
Eternal Rune Hero set – You can upgrade this later to High Daeva gear.
Adma Ruins/Elemental Lab/Arkhal/Kroban – This is garbage.
Mid tier:
Frozen Insignia sets – Upper Abyss world/instance drops
Rune Hero - Morphed Ancient Coin gear, very good stats but expensive to upkeep
Makarna gear – Good if you get the full set with a weapon. You need to make it +15
to stay relevant in PvE but it's still ok.
Library of Knowledge set (Maze)
High tier:
L80 open world drop weapon
Garden of Knowledge (Apollon)
Mythical Prigga weapon/gear - There are multiple Prigga sets and higher level ones
got higher stats. Drop from Pandemonium Battlefield (eternal pieces can be
upgraded).
Narakali set (Ancient Fallusha)
53
Low Tier:
Fabled accessories from Daemon organization quests (Vengar) are one easy option
before you get mythical ones. You can also do Balaurea Research
Center/Jormugand's Bridge to get some Battle Medallions to buy fabled accessories
for Strife series (Akaron).
Runadium and Katalamize Accessories
Mid Tier
Kroban drops both eternal and mythical accessories with decent stats
Library of Knowledge campaign gives a mythical set of accessories with a skill bonus.
Ved/Kaelis/Alleph or similar accessories from morphing/broker
Runatorium Accessories have good stats for PvE.
High Tier:
L70/L75 AP accessories can be used for PvE too.
Garden of Knowledge (Apollon)
Narakali (Ancient Fallusha).
Low Tier:
L70 Mythical Crucible gear (bought with Infinity Insignias at Marchutan Priory)
L65 Mythical Battle Medallion (Heroic Quest set) gear with ancient manastones
Mid Tier:
L70 Abyssal equipment
Runatorium Accessories
Eternal Oath Equipment (old Sky Island)
High Tier
L75 Abyssal equipment
Raging Antriksha equipment (high daeva version)
Sky Island equipment (Eternal Hope/Glory/Honour)
Bygone Weapon – World Raid Boss drop from Nosra and Esterra
I didn't list most L65 equipment here since they aren't worth getting. Crucible L70 set
got same stats with old L65 officer set and L70 Abyssal set is quite close to mythical
L65 gear.

Think about it like a skill point system from a single player RPG. When you level up,
you gain skill points to use for enhancing your character. You play mage and kill bats
and level up and can add 1 point to either fireball skill or HP. This is basically how CP
works in Aion.
You’ll gain 1 CP every time you reach a diamond icon on your experience bar and 6
CP during leveling up.
How should you spend your precious CP then? Well, it depends on your current stats
and what you’re aiming for. Focus first enhancing your offensive attributes (1st tab):
Accuracy (physical) or Knowledge (magical). Health and Power are secondary stats.
If you got enough Critical Hit, you can start investing on Power. Will and Agility are
used rarely but they got their own use with certain type of defensive builds/gear.
New high daeva manastones focus on enhancing these very same attributes but
don’t mix them with CP. For additional CP you’ll need to have Estimas.
Keep in mind that stats gained from enhanced attributes are calculated in a different
way than direct stats you gain from regulars (old) manastones and equipment. Sywo
has made a great video that explains how to get most out of your attributes with a CP
calculator.
Here is a direct link to the CP calculator. This is for patch 5.5. Save it to Google
Drive to make a version you can edit yourself).
When you reach level 69, you should invest 5 CP to passive PvE damage boost
55
when grinding mobs.
Rest is going to depend on your class and role. It’s very confusing from start but it’ll
start making more sense as you play the game.
Upper Abyss got few quests for shattered spinel, mainly as landing level site quests
from certain campsites. These quests are usually dark blue and you can take them
either from garrisons or from Tokanu Landing Site.
If you grind Steel Wall Bastion, it will reward you with 4 Ceranium Medallions and
lots of AP. All old medals can be transferred into Spinel Medallions through new
Petra Medallion system (click on old medals to trade them for Petra Medals which
you can use to buy Spinel Medallions from Nosra).
Once you’ve got some PvP gear, you should try to get to officer ranks in order to get
weekly officer rewards (Spinels and AP). Also Golden Crucible and Arena of Glory
give both new medallions and AP. Golden Crucible is open in weekends. In order to
take part in Arena of Glory you need to have at least 4 Tickets for Arena of Glory.
These tickets can be obtained from winning regular arenas. Arena of Glory is open
only in weekends (evening). Tower of Challenge will provide 5 Spinels and 190 000
AP from full run.
9.1.7 Feather/Bracelet/Estimas
Feather is a accessory that is shown above your character's ear. Feathers add HP
and offensive stat points. Main stats for feathers are attack, critical hit, magic boost
and magical accuracy. The amount of stats you receive from the feather depend on
their enchanting level.
Enhanced Feather is an upgraded version from the regular feather that gives 2
offensive stats. The main stat of the Enhanced Feather remains unchanged during
enchanting but failing or succeeding effects on the amount of HP and 2ndary stat.
+5 regular feathers are nowadays cheap in Aion EU and it shouldn’t be hard to save
kinah to get one once you reach 66+. These feathers are tradeable and can be
traded between your characters.
56
Bracelet is a PVP accessory that gives PvP defence and depending on it’s
enhancement level it also has additional manastone slots (1-6).
Estimas are like glyphs or stigmas that add CP to your characters. These are fairly
expensive to make and can break during enchanting. Estimas are tradeable items.
Okay, so do you still remember what is Energy of Repose? Good, here are 2 new
buffs that you can earn when you become a high daeva. They all stack so you can
have all 3 buffs at once.
Golden Star Energy is a buff which gives you 100% more experience from grinding
mobs and when charged over 50% gives extra 60% of experience. This is energy is
charged by using Lodas Golden Stars and Golden Apples.
Energy of Growth is a buff with a cloverleaf icon. This is given to you randomly
when you're grinding mobs level 66 or above (and also a daily 5 kill quest in Esterra
rewards 5% charge for this buff). This energy gives 60% more experience from
quests and mobs.
57
Rift of Oblivion is a new 1 man instance added in patch 5.1. Asmodian entrance to
the instance is in Saphora Forest and you can enter there from level 66. It resets
daily if you have a gold pack and it's probably one of the best ways for gaining
experience points at the moment. Small mobs give 500k-2kk experience each and
commanders (large round mobs) give 40-80 million experience each and drop
Ancient Coins. Last boss gives 20kk if you got time to kill it.
Option A. Questing
At 66 keep rotating between 1-3 and repeat. If you're fast enough, you can add 4 to
your rotation. 2 day quests don't require you to kill mobs so those you can do even if
mobs resist you. Feel free to do high daeva gear guests at this level.
At 67 keep rotating areas 1-4. You can also do Spy Quests and Daily PvP quests in
59
a group when rifts are up.
At 68-69 rotate areas 2-5 and consider doing Ancient Creature Daily quests (acquired
from Azphel's Temple).
Area 1.
Area 2.
Area 4.
Area 5.
Option B. Grinding
Akaron Guards in elite camps are good to duo with exp. amulet between 66-70.
Zenzen territory elites give decent exp with exp. amulet between 67-70. ”Raging”
mobs give the most experience points. ”Crafty” and ”tough” ones are also fine but
they got slightly higher defensive stats (crafty got higher resistance for magic and
tough for physical damage). Strange mobs spawn a new mob upon a killing blow so
prepare your cool downs before finishing them off.
I recommend this when you're just too lazy to grind but not motivated enough to
follow quests either. This one works also when you're short on time.
There are [League] quests for sieges that give 70 million experience each. Most
common quests to do are for Upper Abyss and they can be picked up from Tokanu
Landing Site (portal is located in Nosra). The NPC that gives the quests is next to
Ancient Coin weekly quest NPC. There are multiple quests for each fortress.
Next thing to do is to find yourself a nice spot for grinding lots of mobs.
I prefer to do this during experience boost events.
Red Areas have level 74-75 elites, nice experience from tough, crafty and raging
ones but less loot. Crafty mobs are harder to kill for magical classes and tough mobs
are harder to kill for physical classes.
Yellow Areas have level 74-75 normal mobs, a lot less experience than elites but
more loot (since you're killing more mobs per hour).
Average exp/hour is same in both of these spots without boost items, it comes down
to your preference which you end up doing. At level 72 Level 77-78 mobs resist way
too much for you to grind efficiently so don't bother. When you don't feel like grinding,
do the collecting quests from lower level areas and Ancient Creature dailies. Take it
easy and try to do also other PvE/PvP stuff so the grinding doesn't get too tedious.
63
Upper Abyss instances give quite nice amount of exp/hour if you can solo or duo
them. Also consider doing Upper Abyss weeklies from garrisons, you'll be surprised
about how much experience those quests are giving since patch 5.3.
This is when Kumuki’s Hideout event is activated in 2017 (estimation, not 100%
accurate, changes might happen):
Here is a map for the instance. Bosses are marked with red circle. Keep in mind that
Bosses don’t drop keys for the treasure box. The keys (marked with green) can be
used to free Poppy’s and they have a chance to drop a key that can be used for the
treasure box. Yellow X is where the wandering tog is located at and it can be used for
skipping the mobs on the bridge.
You will need to have some gear for your character in order to kill all of the bosses.
Equip at least Nosra weapon and some decent Level 60+ gear (or if you have 55
arena set or old Abyss set that will be enough).
65
ToC or Tower of Challenge is a good source for experience points and ap/honor
points for those who are up for 1 hour PvE marathon. This format is imported from
other NCSoft’s title Blade & Soul and it works in a similar way. The tower is splitted
into different themes and by every 5 level or so you will fight a miniboss.
In June 2017 GameForge implemented a small patch for Aion that added new quests
for certain High Daeva instances. These quests can be found from NPC called
Boborunerk next to Teleport and Flight Points at Azphel’s Temple.
You won’t see all of the quests before you’ve completed corresponding quest in the
quest chain. This means that you’ve to do all of the instances at least once if you
want to open all of the repeated quests. Quests give 90-120 million exp. points
depending on difficulty of the instance.
Hero tests work like daily quests and they give some some free goodies to aid you
during leveling progress. You can access Hero Quests from a little calendar icon next
to Flight icon. These quests change daily at 9am. It will take up to 30 minutes for
these quests to update so be patient.
Some PvP quests can be done in PvPvE instances but only if they don't set any
territory for the killing.
I didn't make a list of the quests since they vary a lot. There also some purple quests
that pop up there only during certain events.Usually there are at least 1 [Solo] quest
and the other 2 are [Solo/Group] or [Group].
