ow. Not only have the massacres and expulsions of the past never been officially acknowledged,

but the Nakba continues today with every destroyed home and Palestinian emigrant. However, the unwavering resistance and resi lience of the remaining

Palestinian population have, so far, ensured that Israel‟s ethnic cleansing of Palestine remains incomplete. It is up to all of us to ensure that the

Palestinians‟ steadfast struggle for survival and freedom has not been in vain.”

Anna Baltzer
Anna Baltzer, human rights activist and campaigner, granddaughter of a Nazi Holocaust survivor, joined the
International Women's Peace Service in 2003 to volunteer in Palestine under Israeli occupation. She
returned repeatedly to experience the reality of the occupation, living and working with farmers and
Palestinian and Israeli activists, and the families of political prisoners. Her experiences, which led her to a
sharp critique of US and Israeli policy in Palestine, are detailed in the reportage, Witness in Palestine: A
Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories, were praised highly by Noam Chomsky and others.

“Even those who are familiar with the grim reality of the occupied territories will quickly be
drawn into a world they had barely imagined by these vivid, searingly honest, intensely
acute portrayals.” – NOAM CHOMSKY
