Q1. Explain as to why you think that both doing and not doing maintenance efforts is
costly.

Q2. Despite of all maintenance efforts done on a piece of equipment, why still an
equipment will fail at some stage? Why is it still necessary to have adequate
maintenance efforts even if equipment still fails despite of those efforts?

Q3. Your Company’s CEO is complaining that the company is investing too much in
drilling equipment maintenance, he plans to slash the maintenance budget to keep the
finance books healthy, convince him not to slash the budget with necessary reasons why
not?
Q4. Can maintenance efforts be:

 effective but not efficient?
