Artifact #7: Weebly Website

I have included my Weebly teacher website as an artifact because it encompasses many

areas that demonstrate my competencies as a teacher, outside of just being technologically savvy.

Within my teacher website, I include various aspects that encourage collaboration with students

and families, as well as providing several student and teacher resources. It demonstrates my

ability to use technology effectively in order to foster a positive learning environment in which

students may thrive. The website demonstrates my commitment to the students by making

myself available to them should there be any questions or concerns. It is also an extension of a

fun and positive learning environment where students are encouraged to participate and take part

in who we are as a group. The website includes resources that will help students as they learn

independently, and the teacher may post different worksheets and additional resources to assist

the students. It provides a platform to direct communication with the families for updates, events,

and continued collaboration. It includes various extensions to lessons the encourage independent

learning and reinforces what we have learned in class, while providing students who need

addition help to take their time progressing through the added resources. It is a fun way to

engage students and collaborate with families, while exploring the endless technological

resources that enhance the learning environment.

The Weebly teacher website can be connected to several professional and curriculum

standards and is constantly meeting new standards as more content is added. I have connected it

to the InTASC Standards for learner development, learning environments, content knowledge,

instructional strategies, professional learning and ethical practice, as well as leadership and

collaboration. It meets the NYS Code of Ethics principle two that educators create, support, and

maintain challenging learning environments for all. It is connected to the OCT Ethical standards
for trust, demonstrating that professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents,

guardians and the public are based on trust. It meets the CAEP standards that ensure that

candidates model and apply technology standards as they design, implement and assess learning

experiences to engage students and improve learning. The website connects to many different

ISTE standards, particularly those of collaborator and designer using tools to extend to real

world learning while maintaining a positive learning environment. Finally, it meets CEC

standards for creating meaningful and inclusive participation of individuals with exceptionalities,

while providing them tools and resources outside of class. I have included the individual

standards below, as well as a link to my teacher website accompanied by various screenshots of

my website.

NYS Code of Ethics

Principle 2 Educators create, support, and maintain challenging learning environments for all.

Educators apply their professional knowledge to promote student learning. They know the

curriculum and utilize a range of strategies and assessments to address differences. Educators

develop and implement programs based upon a strong understanding of human development and

learning theory. They support a challenging learning environment. They advocate for necessary

resources to teach to higher levels of learning. They establish and maintain clear standards of

behavior and civility. Educators are role models, displaying the habits of mind and work

necessary to develop and apply knowledge while simultaneously displaying a curiosity and
enthusiasm for learning. They invite students to become active, inquisitive, and discerning

individuals who reflect upon and monitor their own learning.

OCT Ethical Standards

relationships with students, colleagues, parents, guardians and the public are based on trust.

CAEP/TEAC Standards
