Ahora vamos a aprender el verbo CAN que en inglés significa PODER. Entonces vamos a aprender cómo

Para hacer preguntas con estas expresiones en primer lugar colocamos is o are de
acuerdo a la cantidad de objetos, personas, etc. a las que nos estemos refiriendo y luego la
expresión there. Es decir, invertimos el orden de la frase verbal. Mira los siguientes
ejemplos:
➢ “IS THERE a cat?” (¿Hay un gato?) “Yes, there is.” (Sí, hay) / “No, there is not.” (No, no
hay)
➢ “ARE THERE four pencils?” (¿Hay cuatro lápices?) “Yes, there are” (Sí, hay) / “No, there
aren´t.” (No, no hay).
Así, además de diferenciar entre la existencia de un objeto o más de uno, recuerda que si estas
hablando de más de uno el sustantivo debe ir en forma PLURAL.

2) Los sustantivos en plural. En este caso se podría usar "some" y "any" .
(algunos, algunas, etc.)
“There are a apples” (es incorrecto, ya que el sustantivo “apples” está en plural.)
Para expresar cantidades "one" es más formal y " a" sólo se puede usar al principio de una
cantidad. Así si la palabra "hundred", va al principio, podemos utilizar indistintamente " a" o
"one" pero si va entre dos cantidades sólo se podrá usar "one".

Pronombres Personales. (PERSONAL PRONOUNS)
Verbo "To be" (oraciones airmativas, negativas, interrogativas). Formas largas y
cortas
Palabras Interrogativas: “What...”, “Who...”, etc.
Preguntas: “What´s ….like?”.
Formas gramaticales y preguntas personales relacionadas con el nombre, apellido,
procedencia, edad, etc.: “I was born...”,”Where …..from?”, etc.
Adjetivos posesivos. (POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES).
Caso posesivo. (POSSESSIVE CASE).
Verbos: LIKE/DON´T LIKE + ing o LIKE/DON´T LIKE + sustantivo, HATE, LOVE.
Frases: “I think.... because.....”, etc.
Vocabulario relacionado con: Países y nacionalidades, miembros de la familia,
profesiones y empleos, información personal (edad, trabajo, gustos, hobbies,
preferencias, dirección, etc.), adjetivos caliicativos.
PERSONAL PRONOUNS
Por ejemplo, si decimos: “EL niño juega al fútbol” ¿De quién estamos hablando? ¡Del niño!
“El perro es negro” ¿De quién hablamos? ¡Del perro!
Como puedes ver en el ejemplo para no repetir “mi mamá, mi mamá, mi mamá….en cada oración, lo
reemplazamos por el pronombre que le corresponde: Mi mamá es ELLA, entonces lo remplazamos por SHE
que significa ELLA en inglés. A continuación tienes una tabla con todos los pronombres.

Verbo TO BE:Raggio

El verbo To Be es el verbo Ser o Estar. Un verbo es una acción (bailar) o un
estado (amar). Ahora nosotros vamos a repasar este verbo en particular que es el
verbo SER o ESTAR, en inglés es el verbo TO BE. Por lo tanto, vamos a aprender
como se dice “Yo SOY”, “Yo ESTOY”, “Vos SOS”, “Vos ESTAS”, ….y así con todas las
personas que hemos visto en el punto anterior. A continuación tienes la tabla con
la conjugación del verbo para cada persona. También tienes la forma larga y corta
del verbo. Estas dos formas signiican lo mismo, la diferencia es que la forma larga
corresponde a un lenguaje formal y la forma corta a una manera informal de
hablar.

• Cuando una pregunta comienza con alguna de estas palabras su respuesta ya no es SI o No como en
las preguntas que vimos anteriormente sino que solicitan información de distinto tipo. Un ejemplo sería:

Ahora vamos a realizar una primera aproximación a los verbos que se utilizan para hablar de preferencias,

Para NEGAR como siempre agregamos la partícula NOT, en este caso, entre el HAVE-HAS y el NOT, es
decir, HAVE NOT GOT (haven´t got) o HAS NOT GOT (hasn´t got).
Para PREGUNTAR invertimos el orden. Por lo tanto, HAVE or HAS va delante del sujeto:

Tanto HOW MUCH como HOW MANY lo vamos a utilizar para preguntar por cantidades. La diferencia
es que HOW MUCH se utiliza cuando el sustantivo es incontable “HOW MUCH SUGAR IS THERE?”
(¿Cuánta azúcar hay?) y HOW MANY cuando el sustantivo es contable “HOW MANY CHILDREN
ARE THERE?” (¿Cuántos chicos hay?).
También lo podemos utilizar con el verbo Have got: “How many sisters HAVE you GOT?” (¿Cuántas
hermanas tenés?).
