SUBJECT : LOGIC CIRCUIT SWITCHING THEORY GROUP #4: SBEE3A

LABEX NO. : 14 CRODUA, KLYNT RECO
DE PEDRO, JHANREL
TITLE : JK FLIP-FLOP DEVOSORA, ROSELLE MAE P.
DOLLESIN, RAYMOND
ESBER, JOHN PAUL
OBJECTIVES:
1. To familiarize with the pin configuration of the 7473/74LS73
(Dual JK Flip-Flop).
2. To determine the operating characteristics of the JK Flip-Flop.
3. To construct a Binary Counter using the 7473/74LS73.

MATERIALS:
1.Electronic Trainer Board
2.Square Wave Signal Generator
3.Oscilloscope
4.VOM
5.7473/74LS73
6.Solid copper hookup wires, # 22

PROCEDURE:
1.Check condition and pin configuration of the IC (7473/74LS73) as illustrated below.
2.Check and adjust power supply on the Electronic Trainer Board for +5V.
3.Hookup the circuit in protoboard as illustrated below using the hookup wires.
4.Set up operating controls of the Oscilloscope for waveform observation.
5.Set up the Square Wave Signal Generator to provide a 120 Hz output and feed it to pin 5.
6.Observe the signal at pin 5 with the Oscilloscope.
(a) read just the Oscilloscope controls to provide a 2 square wave display on the screen
(b) without disturbing the Oscilloscope controls, observe and draw output waveform at
pin 9.
7.Reset the Square Wave Signal Generator output to 60 Hz.
(a) repeat Steps 6, Step 6a, and Step 6b.

OBSERVATION:

If J and K are not of the same level then the ouput Q takes the value of J at the next clock
edge. If both J and K are both low then no change occur. If J and K are both high at the clock
edge then the ouput will toggle from first state to next state.

CONCLUSION:

Therefore, if both of the inputs are both high, the output will change from the first state
and if both are low, there will be no change in the output.
