SUMARY “ PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION : THE BASIC “

This report is mainly aimed at the actors of the supply chain and has the function of

informing in detail the appropriate forms and means of transport, according to the provider

or the customer.

Choosing the right method of transport is very important to ensure an effective delivery

and a product in good condition. for this it is necessary to have knowledge of the modes

and means of transport, besides knowing the destination of the merchandise, the distance

that it represents and the conditions and terms agreed for the logistics operation to be

carried out.

Taking into account that the budget can be the most important factor to make a decision

as to the transport of merchandise, the speed of transport, distance and qualities of the

goods or the product should also be taken into account. This ensures the budget given for

transportation and ensures customer satisfaction and positioning in the market.

The speed of freight transport is a very important aspect in the transport of perishables for

example. International goods marking must be known by both parties in a shipment of

dangerous goods such as chemicals or contaminated material. The shipping costs can be

increased or decreased according to the conditions of the transport and the merchandise.

the parties involved must reach a prior agreement in which the incoterms are used, so it is

clear who assumes the overcharges and the conditions that assume previously.

choosing the most effective mode of transport goes hand in hand with the size of the

merchandise and the urgency of delivery. there are three modes of transport most used,

land or road, which is the cheapest but the slowest and least careful with the environment,

air is the most expensive, but the fastest and safest; the railway is fast but a little more

expensive than the road, and the sea, which is safe and can be transported large
quantities but not as fast as the air. It depends on what type of product is to be transported

and the urgency of the shipment, proceed to decide which mode of transport to use.
