This project shows innovation in the classroom by allowing the students to collaborate
with their peers outside of the classroom. The students will be innovative as they actively
measure real objects in their school as a group. In today’s line of work students need to learn to
work in groups, especially with people they may not like. Especially since our teachers are trying
to push STEM majors, they will need to work as a team, bounce ideas off5 each other and work
together to create solutions today’s problems. As they do these activities, and work on their final
assignments, they will be able to apply their knowledge to a real-world problem that will come
about in the next 10 years of their life. Every student will need to buy a house or will get an
apartment. Some may not be able to view it as there may be a current resident there. If they have
a scaled drawing and want to determine how big one is compared to another they can do so from
the last day of this plan. To continue this plan in later years would not be very easy. The schools
now follow Eureka Math and their books because they align well with the Arizona College and
Career Readiness standards. However, to make this project a yearly occurrence, it needs to be
shown to the lead teacher and then to the assistant principals who decide the curriculum that the
teachers will teach. Since the project aligns with the Common Core standards and takes it even a
step further, it will inspire the administration of the schools to keep it as a project that is done in
