The Tun Fatimah College have its own college management building. It is called Administration
Block G5 that located in the middle of the area between the residential building. In this project we
are just focusing on the administration building in Kolej Tun Fatimah that is called the Blok
Pentadbiran G5.Kolej Tun Fatimah is a 2 storey building. The type of this building is an
administration and business building. Each floor of this building locate plenty of room for the
management of the college. The right side of the building contain a café which a spot or place for
student to eat and relax during their leisure time. In addition, the project focusing on the system
that present in the building and the café. Futhermore, we conduct an inspection throughout the
whole building to determine whether the system meet the standard.

8.0 Electrical Systems

The design & planning of an electrical installation involve consideration of all prevailing
conditions and is usually guided by the requirement of the consumer. The various functional
needs, efficiency, economy, energy conservation, aesthetics, technology, operation &
maintenance practices, provision of future growth are some of the main factors to be incorporated
in the design at the planning stage by a competent electrical engineer.

Presently our country is witnessing the higher growth in infrastructure development mainly in
urban areas and there is disproportionate transit of population towards cities, which has generated
the need of vertical extension of offices and commercial buildings looking to constraints of land
and commutation from far locations to city hub.

Power Distribution in Small Buildings. Small commercial or residential buildings have a very
simple power distribution system. The panel board will have a main service breaker and a series
of circuit breakers, which control the flow of power to various circuits in the building.
Power Distribution in Small Buildings
Small commercial or residential buildings have a very simple power distribution system. The
utility will own the transformer, which will sit on a pad outside the building or will be attached to
a utility pole. The transformer reduces the voltage from 13.8kV down to 120/240 or 120/208 volts
and then passes the electricity to a meter, which is owned by the utility and keeps a record of
power consumption.

After leaving the meter, the power is transmitted into the building at which point all wiring, panels,
and devices are the property of the building owner. Wires transfer the electricity from the meter
to a panel board, which is generally located in the the janitor room of the building. In small
commercial buildings, the panel may be located in a utility closet. The panel board will have a
main service breaker and a series of circuit breakers, which control the flow of power to various
circuits in the building. Each branch circuit will serve a device (some appliances require heavy
loads) or a number of devices like convenience outlets or lights.
Main Electrical installations/systems
Looking to present function need, electrical installations/systems are to be provided essentially in
high-rise buildings incorporating all by laws and codes etc. For Wisma Sing Long in Batu Pahat,
the electrical system may be divided in following sub -system:

A. Power house: Kolej Tun Fatimah have their own power house, which mean received the
power source from TNB. However, they have also own generator which is generate by diesel
incase the electrical supply break down.

B. Power supply distribution system: After the electrical current enter the main power
supply switch, the current is being distributed to every floor, and at every floor they have
individual power switch which sustain the electrical demand of every room and cafe lot.

C. Lighting system: Lighting system in Kolej Tun Fatimah is individually installed by each
room lot. However, the lighting system at corridor, open area and emergency path is control by
management level.
