“Measuring influence of TV cartoons” on

school going children at Gaya

Abstract: - The research is affiliated with influence of cartoons on children at Gaya. TV
channels broadcast cartoons which are non-stop. Cartoons show their positive effect on
children even also on adult. Children follow cartoons characters activities, like how they
fights, respect others, or else psychological activities.
The researcher will choose quantitative method as a tool of primary data collection and also
use secondary method of data collection. The researcher will select from 3-12 years age
group of children. The researcher will do survey from some schools at Gaya. The researcher
will prepare questionnaire for parents of schooling children. The researcher will select
parents because parents can evaluate their children much better. Their parents can answers
the questionnaire easily.

Introduction:-
Cartoons are as a mean of entertainment.
Literature Review:
 A study was done by Raza & Gondal (2014), who talked about how cartoon
characters leave their emotional and physical effects on children. They used survey
method and Quantitative method for data collection. They took 100 students as
sample size from five primary school of Multan.
They found the psychological impact on school going children. It effected them in
educational level such as- vocab, G.K. spelling and also effected in emotional such as-
sadness, aggression and excitement.

 In another study of Tripathi (2016) , The researcher highlighted the effect of cartoon
watching on the development of children and determined that how cartoon changed
the mentality and behaviour of school going children and lack in some the current
cartoon TV show & habits of watching television in regularly at least two hours.
In this study, the researcher used random sampling method & questionnaires in a
survey that focused on children.
The criteria chosen 8 to 14 yrs. age group of children/pupils from class 3 to 6 who
were position to complete/filled the questionnaire.
The result were obtained that many of programmes were violent, aggressive, loud
both in audio-visual which absorbed by children and somehow it leaves good
messages which parents and children must consume.

 Ghizali, Alam, Ahmad, Shaukat & Noor (2017), in their study, they targeted to find
the effect of language change and behavioural development in children and
determined that how children live in their fantasy life. They used the interviews with
open-ended questions and data analysis by a non-parametric test in statistical package.
They selected the mothers and siblings of school going children of the age of 5-12 yrs.
From the city of Islamabad. They did survey with questionnaire among 30 mothers
and siblings of younger children.
In their study, the researchers found the result that the high level of language
acquisition and cognitive development among children and also found some
aggressive & violent behaviour with their siblings and friends sometimes. Cartoons
also grasp children attention towards anti-social behaviour and it affected to acquire
other moral and social values.

Objective:-
 To know the psychological impact on children.
 To find the behaviour changes on children.
 To obtain the wastage of time by children on cartoon.
 To know the level of education in children.
 To check that parents are agree or disagree with positive effects of cartoons on
children.
