RITE OF REMEMBRANCE FOR DECEASED ADMINISTRATORS,

FACULTY & STAFF

1. On September 29, 2018, as we celebrate the feast of our beloved patron, Saint
Michael the Archangel, we are also invited to remember with love and gratitude those
who served in Saint Michael College and now have gone before us.

2. Therefore, during the Mass on September 29, after the Prayer after Communion
and the Tribute to St. Michael, prayers will be offered for the eternal repose of their
souls. Each department (Grade School, High School, College and Staff and
Maintenance) is requested to

a. gather the names of the departed administrators/teachers/personnel who served

in their respective department;
b. assign a representative who will lead the prayer and read the names of the
departed (see attached prayer); and
c. collect an amount that will serve as love offering which will be put inside an
envelope to be offered after the prayer.

3. By this gesture, we renew our trust and confidence in Our Lord, and pray that
together we may be one in him through whom we offer our praises to the Father.

We expect that cooperation of everyone. Thank you very much.

RITE OF REMEMBRANCE

Commentator: Through the years, Saint Michael College has evolved, adapted
and innovated; it has done so because of the illustrious men and
women whose unwavering faith in God enabled them to offer their
lives in faithful service to the vision, mission and ideals of the
institution. At this moment, in prayerful remembrance, let us
commend their souls to God.

GS Representative: Almighty and eternal God, from whose love in Christ we cannot be
parted, either by death or life: hear our prayers and thanksgivings
for ____________whom we remember this day; fulfill in them the
purpose of your love; and bring us all, with them, to your eternal
joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The representative drops the envelope in the urn.

HS Representative: O God of truth and justice, we hold before you those men and
women who have died in service: ______. As we honor their
dedication and cherish their memory, may we put our faith in your
future; for you are the source of life and hope, now and forever.
Amen.

The representative drops the envelope in the urn.

College
Representative: Merciful Father, hear our prayers and comfort us; renew our trust in
your Son, whom you raised from the dead; strengthen our faith that
___________ and all who have died in the love of Christ will share
in his resurrection; who lives and reigns with you, now and forever.
Amen.

The representative drops the envelope in the urn.

Staff
Representative: Father in heaven, we praise your name for all who have finished
this life loving and trusting you, for the example of their lives, the life
and grace you gave them and the peace in which they rest. We
praise you today for ________ and for all that you did through
them. Meet us in our sadness and fill our hearts with praise and
thanksgiving, for the sake of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

The representative drops the envelope in the urn.

Presider: God our Father…through Jesus Christ. Amen.

The priest sprinkles the urn with holy water and incenses it while an appropriate song is
sung.
