India marked its beginning with the launching of India’s

CO2, and due to addition of few acids like phosphoric &
citric acids in the
drinks to make it
taste good it
becomes more
acidic & harmful.

To test the
presence of CO2
in the drinks, the
bottles as soon
as they were
opened all the
samples were
passed through
the lime water solution and here are few results: the
ones who turn the solution milky faster has
comparatively high amount of CO2.
These results showed up the presence
5
of harmful contents in the cold drink.

6
From this it was concluded that every drink contains CO2
dissolved in it, making it carbonic acid which is responsible
for the tangy taste of the drinks.

Ca(OH)2 (s) + CO2(g) CaCO3(s) + H2O(s)
