The elementary students are invited to process to the crib for Christmas Eve Mass at 5:30 pm. and sing Silent Night. They will practice on
December 5, and 12 at CCD. Then they will have a practice in church after school on Wednesday the 19th for approximately an hour. I sent
notes home on Wednesday, November 14, and there will be reminders in the bulletin for your convenience. I need to know if you want your
child to participate. Please call my home phone at 475-3403 and leave me a message, text me at 794-6353, or sign the note and send it
back to the classroom teacher by November 28. Please take care of this request as soon as possible. Rose Redeker

On Wednesday, December 12 at 6:00 pm, St Ann’s Altar Society is offering a meal for all CCD students and teachers in
the St. Joseph school basement. The menu consists of a taco bar, drinks and dessert. We hope you’ll come hungry. A
flyer will be distributed to all students at CCD class with more detail.

The third and fourth graders will be collecting Birthright items during the Advent
Season for their service project. Here is a list of some of the things that can be
brought for families in need; diapers sizes 3 and up, crib sheets, long sleeve
onesies sizes 0 to 6 months, 12 month girl and 12-18 month boy clothing, body wash
and shampoo, and desitin. If you would like to bring a gift for Birth Right, please
place your donation in the baby cradle in the back of church. We will be excited to
have your help in providing these things for little babies during these colds
months. Thank you…… Melissa Gerleman, Stacey Schade, and the third and fourth grade CCD class

Nationally known Catholic speaker and best-selling author, Jon Leonetti, will be here leading the way! Jon travels extensively
around the country helping Catholics understand this greatest story ever told- the story of Jesus Christ and his Catholic Church. Jon
has been featured on the nation’s top Catholic websites, blogs and radio shows and we are honored and excited to host him here at
St. Joseph Parish in Olpe. Bring your family (appropriate for 5 th grade on up) and invite your friends! Daycare will be provided. A
parish Chili feed will be held prior to the first evening mission talk. You will want to mark your calendars for this event! We expect
standing room only at our church. Pray now for a successful Parish Mission!

In the next few days you will receive a letter about our January Parish Mission with Jon Leonetti. In the letter I have
asked people to sign up to bring cinnamon rolls, sign up their children for daycare and also for help as greeters all 3
nights. Each of these sign up sheets will be in the back of church from Dec 1-31. Please, please sign up to help make this
mission successful! We need all of you to make this mission great! Thank you! …………Kay Schmidt
Although our Catholic school at St. Joseph has closed, it remains our parish mission to promote
Catholic education. Thus, St. Joseph has given $2,000 in subsidy for two of our elementary
parishioners who attend Sacred Heart School in Emporia. If it is your specific intent to assist St.
Joseph in funding this expense, please make your check payable to “St. Joseph Church” and note
Sacred Heart subsidy in the memo. Thank you and God Bless!

It’s that time again! If you would like to purchase a flower in memory of a loved one to help decorate
the altars at Christmas, please call Donna (475-3794) or Laurie (475-3284) just as soon as you can.
We need to coordinate and order flowers by December 17. We are keeping your cost at $25 again
this year! We certainly do appreciate the very many generous donors we’ve had in the past!

St. Ann officers will be collecting donations for additional altar flowers after masses the weekends of December 8/9
and December 15/16. Please remember your loose change.
