SPECIFICATION OF FABRICATED EQUIPMENT

1.0 SCOPE:

This specification covers design check, engineering, fabrication,


inspection supply including packing and forwarding & Transportation for
Proposed Manufacturing Facility of M/s. Field Fresh Foods Pvt. Ltd.

2.0 LOCATION AND SITE DATA:

Plant is located at Hosur, Tamilnadu.

3.0 EXTENT OF SUPPLY:

Individual equipment as per enclosed Specification Data Sheets.

4.0 GUARANTEE & PENALTY:

A GUARANTEE:

A.1 The equipment shall be guaranteed for trouble free operation for a
period of 12 months from date of handing over.

A.2 Any defect due to faulty material / bad workmanship shall be replaced
/ rectified free of cost to the entire satisfaction of the client. The onus of
deciding replacement / rectification lies with the client.

A.3 All guarantees from equipment suppliers will be vested in the client.

A.4 All guarantees will be full guarantees & will include all overhead, profit,
incidental charges and sundries.

A.5 Where damage is caused to any other item by any failure of the item
guaranteed, then the guarantee shall also include the costs incurred in
rectifying that damage.

B. PENALTY:

B.1 For late delivery; 1% per week subjected to a maximum of 5% of P.O.

5.0 DOCUMENTATION:

A. The following shall be submitted along with offer (in 2 sets).

A.1 Enquiry document dully filled in place of * mark and signed and
stamped on all pages as an acceptance of the specification.

A.2 List of machinery and facilities available at works.

A.3 List of raw material suppliers and sub vendors.

A.4 Deviation to the specification if any shall be specified in the list of


deviation. Absence of list of deviation shall be constructed as
compliance of the specification in Toto.

A.5 Quality Assurance plan.

B. The following documents shall be submitted within 2 weeks of LOI for


Comments / Approval (in 4 sets).

B.1 Design calculation.


B.2 Fabrication drawings (In AutoCAD & Printout).

C. The following document shall be submitted before start of

6.0 SPARES:

Tenderer to forward a list of spares along-with prices for 2 years troubles free
operation along with the offer.

7.0 GENERAL:

This specification covers the inspection schedule to be followed by the


fabricator. Based on the description below, the fabricator should work
out the Quality Assurance Plan and submitted along with offer for
comments & approval of the Client.

8.0 PREFABRICATION INSPECTION:

8.1 Shop Qualification

Details as required in 5.0-A.2, A.3 of the covering document


(Specifications of fabricated equipment) should be submitted by the
fabricator.

8.2 Welder’s Qualification

Welder’s qualification shall be as per ASME Sec. IX and relevant


construction codes for position, Base metal, Filler metal and Welding
process.

9.0 INSPECTION TESTING & APPROVAL:

9.1 FABRICATION INSPECTION:

9.1.1 Enlisted below are the various stages of Inspection common for
all types of vessels:

a. Material Identification & Stamp Transfer

All pressure parts, process contact parts, all SS components and


load bearing parts for items subjected to stress, destructive tests

and Chemical analysis shall be carried out as per the relevant


applicable specification mentioned in individual specification
datasheet of Equipment. Apart from the above, plate material of
thickness 16mm and above shall be Ultrasonically tested. Bought
out components such as pipe fittings shall be subjected for lot
testing as per relevant specifications.

b. Material identification and stamp transfer will be carried out at


Fabricators workshop only.

c. Tubes shall be inspected at tube manufacturers place only.

d. S.S. material will be additionally subjected to microstructure


examination.

e. Following procedure shall be followed for lot identification.

e.1 Plates bearing the same heat numbers shall be considered as 1


lot. 2 samples at random shall be selected for testing for identical
parameters. The test results should be identical complying to the
norms of the relevant material code with variation in values not
exceeding 5% between the selected samples. Failure to comply
with above & material code value the total lot shall be rejected.

e.2 Plates without heat numbers or with different numbers shall


be considered as individual plate & 100% samples will be
tested as per relevant material code.

f. All S.S. forged material shall be solution annealed and supported


by certificate.

g. Testing of the compensation pads, liners, hydrostatic test of the


vessel and jacket, vacuum test of the vessel. No load & load trial
of agitator and other applicable tests as per the data sheets. Test
pressures will be as indicated in Specification data sheet under
‘Test Data’ heading.

h. Any other inspection stages and tests required as per code shall
be applicable apart from the above points.

maintain the records.

9.3.6 Mark the radiographic spots on shells after completion of all weld
joints & maintain the records with proper numbering system &
sketch showing locations etc.

9.3.8 Setups of supporting brackets & necessary pads of bracing


beams & rafters.

9.3.9 Dimensional checkup of trusses.

9.3.10 Assembly dimensions of Bracing beams, central & middle


columns, curb angle ring etc.

9.3.11 Dimensions of staircase & internal ladder.

9.3.12 Nozzle orientation marking on shell & setups of nozzles to shell with
necessary pad plates in tack weld conditions.

9.3.13 Setup or roof plates to curb-angle ring and lap joint construction
as per details.

9.3.14 Nozzle orientation marking on roof plates and setups of nozzles to


roof in tack weld conditions (individual nozzle & joints to be
checked before assembly).

9.3.15 Internal, External touchups before leak testing.

9.3.16 Leak testing of tank by water fill test up to curb angle ring or
inspection of weld joints by spraying highly penetrating oil or as
agreed with client or as applicable.

9.4 CHIMNEY

9.4.1 Material Identification of shell/body flanges/ bearing &


compression plate / fasteners etc.
9.4.2 Stamp transferring on all identified material for the individual
components.
9.4.3 Long-seam setup of individual shell course.
9.4.4 Penetrant testing of shell long-seam joints after back chipping.
9.4.5 Cir-seam set up of shell and bottom dish to shell joints.
9.4.6 Cir-seam set up of shell joints and alignment of the sections before
welding & after welding or set up of Body flange to shell pre
machining in bolted condition for alignment of shell sections with
gasket.
9.4.7 Penetrant testing of shell cir-seam joints after back chipping.
9.4.8 Nozzles set up on shell in tack weld condition with R.F. Pads
wherever applicable.

9.4.9 Penetrant testing of nozzles after back chipping.


9.4.10 Inspection of internal surface finish of shell & Pneumatic testing of
R.F. Pads of shell nozzles.
9.4.11 Supporting base (Bearing & Compression plate) set up inspection
in tack weld condition to check alignment & vertically.
9.4.12 Final dimensional checkup and inspection of internal & external
surface of individual sections.
9.4.13 Alignments of shell section & assembly dimensional checkup of
chimney before erection.
9.4.14 Cleaning, painting (as specified) & hard stamping on Chimney
before dispatching to site.
9.4.15 Verification of internal inspection documents.

10.0 GENERAL NOTES FOR FABRICATION

10.1 All dimensions are in MM unless specified otherwise.


10.2 Bolt holes of flanges shall be straddle to principal centre lines of
vessels or lines parallel thereof.
10.3 Minimum thickness shall be as indicated in drawing. Specified
thickness shall be checked and Vendor shall be responsible for
final thickness.
10.4 Minimum plate width for any Long Seam & Cir Seam joint shall be
300 mm.
10.5 Wherever possible butt welds and nozzle to vessel welds shall be
chipped back to sound metal and welded. Welds inaccessible for
back chipping shall be Full Penetration Weld with root run by TIG.
10.6 All nozzle pipes shall be ERW, unless specified otherwise.
10.7 All MS Vessels shall be sand blasted as per Sa 2½ Grade (Dull Grey
Finish) & shall be followed with two coats of Synthetic Enamel
Paint with 75 micron DFT.

10.8 Unmachined carbon steel external surfaces shall be painted with


two coats of Zinc Chromate Primer.
10.9 Machined surfaces to be protected by rust preventive
compound. All nozzle flanges shall be blanked before dispatch.
10.10 All gasket contact faces for soft gaskets shall be serrated to 0.8
concentric pitch and 0.35 deep or spiral 0.5 to 1 pitch and 0.025
to 0.15 deep approximately.
10.11 Nozzles 40 NB and below shall be stiffened by 2 Nos. stiffeners at
900 apart.
10.12 Nozzles with blind flange shall be provided with gasket and
bolting.
10.13 All pads, flange and liners, etc. shall have 1/16” NPT tell-tale holes.
These shall be air tested to 1 Kg/cm2 (g) with soapsuds and
plugged.
10.14 S.S. surface shall be de scaled and cleaned as per ASTM A 380,
except where surface polishing is required.
10.15 For horizontal vessels with slope, the nozzle flanges shall remain
truly horizontal / vertical in spite of slope. Nozzle standouts and all
vertical distances shall be measured from the reference line. Slope
shall be created by having the saddles of different height.
10.16 Flange thickness for SS (excluding Stub end & liner) as well as C.S.
vessels will be as per ANSI B16.5, ASA 150#.
10.17 Final Machining of gasket contact faces of girth flanges / plate
flanges shall be only after welding.
10.18 For SS vessels nozzle flanges 40 NB & below shall be provided with
short neck stub end. Whereas, 50 NB & above shall be CS-SS, lined,

unless specified otherwise. All equipments will be provided with


earthing boss SS 304 as per std.
10.19 Equipment shall be thoroughly cleaned from inside by vendor
before dispatch.
10.20 Clips for fixing platforms, ladders handrails and pipe supports shall
be supplied by vendor, as required.
10.21 For insulated vessels, insulation fixing clips shall be supplied by the
vendor. The material of construction shall be same as the material
of the vessel.
10.22 Nozzle reinforcement as required by the design code shall be
calculated and provided by the vendor.
10.23 All C.S and S.S Plates of thickness more than 16 mm shall be
ultrasonically tested as per SA 435 & SA 578. The acceptance level
shall be as per ASME section –VIII Div. 1
10.24 Welding of S.S. parts of thickness 3 mm and less shall be by TIG.
10.25 Dish ends shall be made by spinning process only and shell pre
punching shall be made only by Hydraulic press. (Pre punching by
hammering is not acceptable)
10.26 Plates of Specification SA 516- Gr. 60 & 70 Shall be Finish No-1
(Normalised And De scaled)
10.27 Material Shall be tested as per ASTM A-20/20M & shall be
subjected to chemical analysis, Physical test, Micro examination,
Charpy V-Notch test and Bend test.
10.28 Welding procedure shall confirm to ASME Section IX.
10.29 Welding consumables & standards shall be as per ASME Section II
C & AWS.
10.30 (a) Following welding process shall be followed.

10.34 Only welding rectifiers shall be used for above welding processes.
Current rating capacity of welding rectifiers shall be 400 to 600
amperes minimum. Machine shall be with ampere and voltage
meter & indicators. It shall be single operator fully thyristorised
controlled with automatic current stabilizer D.C. arc welding
machine with remote control and hot start facilities with proper
cooling. Should have 100% copper wound fittings.
