ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to investigate the plagiarism among undergraduate students
in Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing (FKMP), University Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM).
A total of 91 students which consist of first and third year students from the faculty were
randomly selected to be respondents of the study. A set of questionnaire was designed to gain
primary data from the respondents about the cases of plagiarism among the undergraduate
students. The overall findings of the study indicates that family expectations brought the most
impact to students of FKMP in order to obtain excellent results which indirectly force the
students to be indulge in plagiarism. Besides, the findings also shows that the most prevalent
consequences of plagiarising was lesser knowledge would be gain. In a nutshell, some
suggestions have been made to minimize the consequences of plagiarism and recommendations
for future research have also been included in the final part of the report.
