Ligier MK 84

Guy Ligier created AUTOMOBI-


LES LIGIER in 1971 and started
racing in Le Mans 24 Hours where
one of his cars, the JS5, finished
2nd in 1975.
Guy Ligier has then been involved
20 years in Formula 1 racing and
the LIGIER team won 9 races,
finishing 2nd in the F1 Constructor
World Championship in 1980.
On the 19th of May 1996, Olivier
Panis won the most famous race
in the world with his LIGIER JS43 :
the Monaco Grand Prix.

"LIGIER" to the new cars produced
by AUTOMOBILES MARTINI.
AUTOMOBILES MARTINI is pro-
ducing successful single seater
racing cars since 35 years.
Famous Formula 1 driver as Jacques
Laffite, Alain Prost, Olivier Panis
won their first races driving MAR-
TINI cars.
In 1999, Sebastien Bourdais won
the Formula 3 French champions-
hip with the MARTINI MK79.
The design office engineers use
CAD solutions SolidWorks
(Design) and CosmosWorks (Finite
Elements Analysis), which helps to
enhance product quality.
The chassis are produced within
the company facility which is
equipped with a composite works-
hop with autoclave, CNC machi-
ning and a welding workshop.

The LIGIER MK84 is a brand new
concept of inexpensive racing car.
Its design combines a very stiff
carbon monocoque, a semi-auto-
matic 6 gears sequential gearbox
F1 type, with gear change levers at
the steering wheel, and some
inexpensive standard parts which
make possible to get a low main-
tenance cost.
This chassis can be powered by
different engines.
Issued from the latest technology,
the LIGIER MK84 was entirely
designed in 3D CAD, which provi-
des great reactivity and easy
adaptation to customer requests.

spring-damper units and a fully
adjustable anti-roll bar.
The 6-speed sequential semi-
automatic gearbox F1 type uses a
light and stiff aluminium casting.
The engine-gearbox connecting
part includes oil tank and clutch
release system.

Upright are cast in aluminium and
incorporate large diameter angu-
lar contact bearings.
