ACP MTS Programme


The ACP MTS Programme is an EU financed programme that was specifically designed to provide tutoring activities aimed at
creating and/or consolidating negotiation capacities able to ensure all countries equal benefit from WTO policies and rules.
The Technical Assistance is provided by ACP-PMU Consortium lead by ACE Asesores de Comercio Exterior S.L. (ACE).

Programme Objectives
The main purposes of the Programme are
 To assist ACP countries in reforming and adjusting to the multilateral trading system
 To improve their capacity to negotiate and implement multilateral trade agreements
 To integrate trade into the development process of the ACP countries
 To facilitate accession of ACP member countries to the WTO

 All ACP States
 Regional Integration Organisations
 Government Ministries and departments responsible for trade matters
 Civil society organisations
 Private sector organisations
 Research centres and Universities
 Other stakeholders playing an active role in achieving the objectives of this programme

Fulbright Nexus Scholarship


The Office of Public Diplomacy of the U.S. Embassy at Bridgetown, Barbados is pleased to announce a new Fulbright program.
The Fulbright Nexus program will link faculty, applied researchers and practitioners across the Western Hemisphere and the
United States through international exchanges and seminars. Participants will spend up to one calendar year engaged in
collaborative thinking, analysis, problem-solving and multi-disciplinary project-oriented research in one of three broad, inter-
related areas: Science, technology and innovation; Entrepreneurship; and Sustainable energy.

Caribbean-Wide On-Line Distance Education Facility
The University Of The West Indies, Cave Hill Campus
Shridath Ramphal Centre for International Trade Law, Policy and Services (SRC)
Applications are invited for a short term consultancy (12 months) to coordinate Caribbean-Wide On-Line Distance Education
Facility for the Shridath Ramphal Centre.

Duties and responsibilities include:


 Review the needs of the Centre with a view to providing the professional training programme in an online format.
Design and develop a Strategic Plan to realize a functional and efficient distance education e-learning facility; Create
and test the facility and website (offline and online)
 Coordinate the purchase of equipment and supplies to ensure efficient operation of the online facility and Supervise
the commissioning of equipment and set up of the distance learning/online unit;
 Coordinate the training in video editing, camera operation and use of software;
 Market and manage the facility;
 Interface with Users of the online programs; Monitor and prepare reports on usage and stakeholder satisfaction; and
 Other duties as may be assigned by the Director.

The Better Conditions for Productivity (MAP)


The Better Conditions for Productivity, or Mejorando el Ambiente Productivo (MAP) provides technical assistance to studies
and activities in priority areas aimed at improving the business environment and implementing more effective productive
development policies in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The MAP prioritizes certain areas of intervention, based on activities carried out by the Inter-American Development Bank
(IDB) as part of its Business Climate Initiative (BCI). The MAP is open to participation by governments and private sector
institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean committed to improving the productive environment. The MAP is supported by
the Fondo General de Cooperación de España and executed by the Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Division, part of
the IDB Institutional Capacity and Finance Department.

Project proposals may be submitted through the periodic call for proposals at www.iadb/map/en.
