Vocab Quizzes/Other exams:


 During quiz time in class, G can study at a desk in the hallway
 Grant will come in during Patriot Period the day of the quiz (or the following
day if necessary) to take the exam. There he will have a more private setting
as well as extra time.
 If G chooses to take the quiz during class quiz time, I will not prevent him
from doing so; however, I will encourage him to take advantage of the extra
time/private testing options if necessary
o Follow-up option – begin quiz in class and finish during PP if extra
time needed

Breaks:
 Always allow G to take a break if requested (ie, bathroom/water, other
breaks during class time)

Long Writing Assignments:


 Spend time with G going over prompts/clarifying areas of concern (during
Patriot Period or other meetings, ie, before/after school, during G study hall)
 Frequent Check-ins – follow up with G as to how assignments are going
o If check-ins reflect issues or concerns, offer help/small extensions (ie,
end of the day, an additional night, case-by-case basis)
o If check-ins reflect significant issues or concern, set up more formal
meeting time; offer longer extension based on results of meeting

Notes:
 Provide copies of in-class notes
 Spend time reviewing notes/offering to review notes with G during PP or
other meeting times

Directions:
 During independent work in class, connect with G to ensure all directions are
clear and expectations are understood
 Clarify directions of outside assignments during PP or other meeting times

Weekly Patriot Period Meeting Topics:


 Take/finish vocab quizzes
 Clarify/review writing prompts together
 Check-ins about writing assignments
o This will occur during class as well
o Based on check-ins, provide more in-depth meetings at this time
 Review class notes
 Clarify/review directions of other assignments (ie, worksheets, class work)
