We will try to have three weekly quizzes before a test (so a test every four weeks).

All tests and quizzes can be retaken for full credit. The goal is that you master the learning
targets, no matter when it is done.

The weekly quizzes will be “spiral” quizzes. This means that each week the questions from
previous quizzes will be included on the new quiz.
Students will know exactly what the assessments will be over, and will be given a study guide
that includes all of the learning targets for that unit.

Each day of instruction will be connected to a real-world phenomenon that the lesson will be
based on through inquiry.

Students will take notes for all of the learning targets that will be covered on a test. This way,
they have a record of the information that they will need to know that they can practice and study
with.

Retakes for quizzes will be built into the “spiral quiz” system. If a student wants to retake a
section from a previous quiz, they simply answer those questions on the next spiral quiz.

Retakes for tests must be completed outside of class. This could be during study hall, or before
or after school if I am available.
