Assessment criteria

The criteria against which the assignments will be assessed are detailed below.
These are the same as the module learning outcomes. They require each
student in the group to demonstrate that he or she can:

1. Work according to deadlines imposed by self and Masters programme

2. Communicate with peers and tutors appropriately and effectively

3. Search for legal information using appropriate resources (whether paper-


based or online resources)

4. Locate and use relevant case law and legislation in order to answer problem
and essay questions

5. Critically comment on the law, utilising appropriate secondary sources Be able


to evaluate research sources located

6. Maintain, and understand the importance of maintaining regular and detailed


research records

7. Reference competently all relevant sources of legal information in accordance


with the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (2012)

8. Write English grammar and syntax capably to Masters level in all written
assignments

9. Use research information and data to create persuasive academic argument

The first two criteria will be satisfied provided that you have worked with the
other members of your group and have completed and submitted each of the
assignments by the date specified in the study schedule, and that you have
participated in the module exercises during the module.
