Sexual Assault Awareness Month

(https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/sexualviolence/index.html) is a
month dedicated to bringing awareness to sexual assault and the
programs and resources available to Treasury employees who may
need assistance.

Employers can foster a safe work environment by providing resources

and support to employees. Treasury issued its Domestic Violence,

to issue a DVSAS policy and implement a program that provides general
information, training, and guidance for employees and managers
(https://hru.gov/Course_Catalog.aspx?cid=231&mgr=false). The policy
also requires the reporting of all instances of sexual assault allegations
and timely and appropriate investigations by the response team.  It also
allows for workplace flexibilities (such as telework) for employees who
need it.

Bureaus share information about the DVSAS policy and program at new
employee orientations and occupational health visits, and incorporate it
into workplace wellness activities.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has resources readily available

to employees, such as a toll-free number employees can call to speak
with a trained professional counselor, informational webinars and
podcasts, legal consultation, and references to appropriate outside
resources.

Sexual assault is a serious issue. Victims are not to blame for the actions
of their perpetrators.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of sexual assault, contact
