This annual observance emphasizes the importance of the flu immuniza-
tion and other healthy prevention practices. Data from recent years has
shown that flu vaccination rates decline dramatically after the end of
November, although health care professionals support flu immunizations
and prevention throughout the holiday season and beyond.
“It is never too late to get your shot and practice smart flu-prevention
practices,” Crawford said, “It is especially important for those who are
going to be visiting family for the holidays and those who work around the
more vulnerable members of our community, like the elderly and children.”
In addition to flu immunization, frequent hand washing and the regular
sanitization of toys, classroom items and frequently touched objects is
