Materials Book Club Books, Reflection Packet, and

assignment sheet, presentation

Activities (20 mins) Book Talks about their text options

and talk about the assignment together

(15 mins) Mingling around books and

information about the text (reviews, quotes,
images)

( 5 mins) Select books/groups and

(5 mins) begin reading to see whether you
will enjoy the book

Homework/Assessment Students will read the section assigned before

next Friday, and will turn in reflection of that
section the following Monday

Differentiated Instruction Electronic copies if needed, audio books if

needed

Notes/Extra activity If finished with reading, students could begin

their reflection
