SOL Standards: 3.

17 The student will

a) collect and organize data, using observations, measurements, surveys, or experiments;

b) construct a line plot, a picture graph, or a bar graph to represent the data; and

c) read and interpret the data represented in line plots, bar graphs, and picture graphs and write a
sentence analyzing the data.

WIDA Level: 5/6

Purpose/ Objectives:

Language: I will be able to identify my answers through listening.

Content: I will be able to identify and represent the most common answers collected in multiple ways.

Directions in student-friendly language:

After completing the graph of the data, students can identify the most common answers. Then,
physically represent them by standing in each of the four corners. Each corner will represent one of the
top four answers to each of the questions.

2. What is your favorite book?
3. What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?
4. What is your favorite food?
5. What is your least favorite chore?
