I. General Instructions:
In case you have not participated in a take-home exam such as this, I want to lay out the specific
ground rules and expectations for the exam. I will put them in a list format so they will be easier
to identify and follow:
1. You are to work on the exam individually. No discussion between students about the exam
should take place. You should not accept or seek help from other people nor should you provide
it.
2. You can research these questions to help you to better understand the issues and how best
to approach your solution.
3. You will be expected to use the assigned textbook and readings to help you answer the
questions. Our in-class discussions have also extended this material. It is important that you use
the reading materials as resources, not as the entire answer to the questions. I have to be able to
tell that you understand what it is you are writing about. Don’t just copy down what the authors

wrote. If you quote directly from anyone else’s work, you should place it in quotation marks and
cite the source.

4. The questions have multiple parts and assume that you have read and studied in detail the
materials that we have covered in class. Make sure that you respond specifically to each part of
each question being asked. Structure your responses so that it is easy for me to tell that you have
specifically addressed each aspect of each question.

5. You may, but do not have to, provide personal work or personal non-work examples for any
part of any question.

6. Only typed submittals, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12 Font are acceptable.

7. There are four numbered questions. One of these is marked “Optional.” You must answer all
parts of each of the 3 Required questions.

8. Submit THIS ENTIRE exam by stapled hard copy only, NLT: Wednesday, 16DEC2015,
