Monthly Twitter Template for the Kendall Young Library

 Aim for 1 tweet a week

 Choose an overarching theme; we have suggested month themes available
 Keep it simple

Week 1: Introduce the Month’s Theme and invite the public to come in and celebrate with you
 Example: Week 1: October is National Book Month! Be sure to stop by the Kendall Young Library
to pick up a book or two in celebration of the month. #NationalBookMonth #KYL

Week 2: Give a fun fact that relates to a book, program, or event that the public can come and join you
for (this can be programming that you already provide, such DIY days and Teen days)
 Example: Week 2: (October 11) Pulitzer Prize winner MacKinlay Kantor was born in Webster City
and died on this day in 1977. A prolific writer, Kantor won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in
1956 for his novel Andersonville. The novel was one of many of his books set during the
AmericanCivil War. #NationalBookMonth #KYL

Week 3: Showcase another community member, community place/event, or book that relates to the
theme

onto become a well-admired journalist. He won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in1958
for his work in exposing racketeering in the Teamsters Union. Mollenhoff worked for the Des
Moines Register as a correspondent in Washington D.C. and served as a college professor while
continuing to write for the Register. #NationalBookMonth #KYL

Week 4: Thank the community for celebrating the month with you, and create a poll asking them about
their favorite part of the month or a favorite book that relates to the month’s theme
