SWC Lesson Reflection

Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing

This lesson is about letter C. The standards that I address for this lesson are: all the students will
recognize and name letter C and its sound and most of them will be able to recognize the phonics of the
letter C and it formation while few will be able to identify and name words that start with C sound.

Describe (D):
Who is the lesson for?
Where did the lesson take place?
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?
What did the students do?

This lesson is for KG2 students and the lesson was in the classroom in the circle and activities area. In my
lesson I was trying to deliver the lesson for all the students and I want them to be able to recognize the
letter, recognize the sound, letter formation, writing and speaking skills. The students were answering
my questions and about the activities I noticed that they liked them and most of the students
understand the activities and want to try the next activity.

Analyze (A):
Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?
How well did you engage the students?

The students were engaged with me and they understand what is the new letter and they were able to
give me words that start with letter C and some students’ have a prior understanding for the letter.

Appraise (A):
Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?
The student’s perspective from what I see is they were confused with the sound some of them say K and
some C.
Through my assessment to the students I can notice that I meet my teaching goals and the students
understand the letter C and what is the sound of it and all of them can write the letter while some of
them were able to write some words that start with letter C.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?
What are the implications for your professional practice?
For my future lesson I might enhance the student learning by adding hands-on activity or something
interesting form the beginning (introduction) to get the student attention and make them existed, while
for the activities I will provide more challenging activities to rise their skill of thinking.
