Professional Development Plan

(What do YOU need to work on in order to grow professionally?)
I need to work on managing students’ behaviour.

1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal)
I need to work on managing students’ behaviour by using different strategies to motivate children in following the
rules. For example, follow direction.

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)
I will use several strategies to achieve my goal. For example, I will reinforce the good behaviour to children copy what
their friend is doing. Also, I will use the reward system to reward the good behaviour and motivate the children to
follow my rules.

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

I will describe the camel for the students by saying; I have one hump, two big eyes, long bushy
eyelashes and one leathery mouth, who am I? And I will ask the students to guess what’s inside the
box.

Students will give me different answers.

I will listen to students’ answers.

Time: 10 min

I will shake the mystery box then I will ask the students if they are ready to see what’s inside the box
Whole

I will take the plastic camel out of the box

Active Engagement (group working with the teacher)

Students will colour the camel and the palm pictures then they will cut and paste the pictures inside
the large plastic cup. Finally they will fill the plastic cup with the sand to create their desert craft cup.

In this activity they will play two students to six students. Each student will have a different rock

characterized by it. The student will throw the dice once in each session, the camel will drop the

student to a lower number, while the stairway will raise the student to a higher number.

This game or activity benefits students with mathematical intelligence, as they will develop their

mathematical skills in counting numbers from 1 to 40.

I will ask students about the story events and what do they learned from the story.
