Emma Harllee

To obtain placement on a research team to study the effects of micro-plastics on the fish
and wildlife.

• Mentored 3 future baristas at The Island Coffee Haus
• Worked on three 6 page research projects with 7 colleagues using unrevised scientific
research papers
• Contacted different country’s embassies in order to receive information regarding their
currency
• Communicated with previous senior senators Joe Donnelly and Bill Nelson in person
on their views on the environment
• Questioned different Mote Marine Laboratory scientists on their research

Leadership Skills
• Lead a mission trip to Haiti along with the fundraising in order to contribute to
purchasing supplies for the trip (over 2 years we raised over 10,000 dollars)
• Chosen as one of the board members of the Harvard Model Team for Saint Stephen’s
Episcopal School in the 2017 - 2018 school year
• Handled the job of secretary for Club Blue in the year of 2018 at Saint Stephen’s
Episcopal School

Research Skills
• Conducted a research project on the stress effects of red tide on different live crabs in
Sarasota Bay
• Participated in research of the migration patterns and eating habits of spotted eagle rays
• Contributed to a micro plastic count in different bodies of water around the Tampa Bay
and Sarasota Bay areas
• Assisted in dissecting dead fish to determine the consumption of micro-plastics and
plastics based on the different fish sizes
• Measured over 100 yards of fishing line to determine how much fishing line is being
polluted within the waters in different areas in Florida
• Composed two research projects using professional databases

• Worked with adobe’s photoshop and adobe’s after effects
