We will learn to play different types of drums, gain Classroom rules: confidence in our singing abilities, and identify different ♫ Respect each other instrument sounds. Through the quarter we will play singing ♫ Respect the classroom games and learn folk dances. equipment ♫ Follow instructions Goals: ♫ Come in ready to learn! ♫ develop singing voices ♫ gain experience on musical instruments Featured Instrument: ♫ put ideas into compositions Kindergarten: ♫ explore South American folk music ♫ Body percussion and drums Grading: No letter grades will be given for elementary music. 1st grade: Instead, the students will be assessed based on their growth, ♫ Boom whackers and Mallet instruments improvement, and/or participation based off the music standards. 2nd grade: Each student will be evaluated through out the semester and it will ♫ Mallet instruments and be documented on an achievements sheet that can be accessed Drums by the parent or guardian at any time. 3rd grade: ♫ Keyboard and Drums Dates to remember: 4th grade: Kindergarten Showcase: October 19th 6:30pm ♫ Recorder and keyboard 1st Classroom Sit-in: November 15th 6:30pm 5th grade: 2nd Grade Family and Friends Night: November 8th 6:30pm ♫ Ukulele and introduction 3rd Grade Classroom Sit-in: December 1st 6:30pm to concert band 4th and 5th Grade Spaghetti Dinner: December 19th 6:30pm instruments
