Except singing if there is something that gives me immense pleasure is social service.

My
grandfather was a social worker and he dedicated his whole life for the poor and
underprivileged ones. I am also trying to follow his footsteps. Starting from my school life I
have been associated with social activities. But I got an ample of opportunity to pursue my
interest during my graduation. I served as a volunteer at an orphanage where I helped
students in their academics. I was a part of our village youth club and we helped the local
administration in carrying out several awareness campaigning related to “Swachha Bharat
Abhiyan” and “Sarva Sikhsha Abhiyan”. Since I belong to a tribal area and tribal people are
more inclined towards dance and music we tried to combine both these things with role play
to attract their attention and through our role play we tried to make them aware about the
importance of maintaining cleanliness and also child education. As a part of the youth club I
also contributed in activities like plantation, celebrating festivals at orphanage and old age
home and we also helped in last rites of unidentified dead bodies. I took part in health camps
organized by our club where doctors from community hospital provided treatment free of
cost. Currently I am associated with the social responsibility cell of XUB and I take part actively
in all its initiations. We organize events like X-enable for differently abled children, Joy of
giving week and many more such events. I can say that social service is one of the things that
has made me a better person and for me the most wonderful feeling is when I bring a smile
on other’s face.

One thing that I have done consistently in my life is leadership. During my school days I was
the cultural representative and my responsibility was to facilitate every single cultural activity
starting from festivals to annual function. During my graduation I was the secretary of my
department. After graduation also I have led teams of volunteers. Currently I am acting as the
Coordinator of SPICMACAY XUB Chapter. I face challenges like conflict among team members
and sometimes I become impatient if work is not done properly and try to push my team
members that leads to conflict. But I always try to solve such problems by taking help of my
own team members only .I have got to learn so many things from my experience of leading
several teams like conflict management, how to motivate team members, how to overcome
unexpected obstacles, how to collaborate with others to achieve goals, how to understand
the emotion and needs of people around you, how to accomplish challenging tasks, how to
take initiative and most importantly how to learn from others. All this things are highly
essential to be successful in a costumer centric, collaborative and learning oriented work
environment like SDF. So I think can be a good choice for your organization.
