Classroom questions can be categorized in a variety of ways and different types of questions serve different
goals. For this assignment, questions have been grouped into three broad categories: those which are
knowledge/comprehension based, those that deal with application, and those which require
analysis/synthesis/evaluation. (Remember the Bloom’s Taxonomy we discussed in class?). In this part of the
observation assignment you are asked to keep track of the types of questions asked during a given period of
time a 15-20-minute segment of a lesson. Tally the questions asked according to the three categories.
