Comp 1703 - Lab 4 /14

Instructions: In DC Connect, open the “Lab 4 Starter” file and save as YourFirstName
YourLastName Lab 4, i.e. “Ron Simcoe Lab 4”. Complete the following questions. All questions
are worth 1 mark unless noted otherwise. (Take your time as this can get…annoying!)

1. At the bottom of page 4 and continuing to page 5, there are a number of paragraphs highlighted in
yellow. {4 Marks}
a. I want all the yellow highlighted information to be pushed down so that it is on its own page
and I want only that page’s orientation changed to landscape.(Keep all the yellow info on
this page but move what is not highlighted to the next page! Simply adding a page break will
NOT work here).
b. Center the contents of this page both vertically and horizontally.
c. This page will have a different header and footer than the rest of the document. The header
will be centered and display “YourName” while the footer will not display anything.
d. Remove the yellow highlight when you are done.
2. Headers. The header will display title of the paper on the left and the page numbers on the right for
the first page only! For all other pages (except for page that is landscape) you will only have page
numbers on the right. For all page numbers, use the format “This is page x of y” where x is the
current page and y is the number of pages. For example, page 2 would say “This is page 2 of 6”
(assuming there is a total of 6 pages). You must use fields for page numbers or you will not receive
any marks. {2 Marks}
3. Footers. On the first page of the document I want the footer to display the current date on the left.
You must use a field for the date and it must be formatted like “Monday September 25” On the right
of the Footer, I want you to add “YourName” i.e. “Ron Simcoe”. The footers on all other pages will
only have “YourName” on the right (once again with the exception of the landscape page).
{2 Marks}
4. Add the following sources into the sources section of Word’s bibliography tool using APA style. I
would advise you to use the edit tool when adding the names.

Source 1 is a Book
There are 2 authors. “John Crangston” and “Michael Jameson Wood”. Published in “2014”. Title of
book is “Canadian Nursing-E-Book: Issues and Perspectives”. City is “Toronto”. Publisher is “McGraw
Publishing”.
Source 2 is a Journal Article
There are 3 Authors “Mark Jackson Butler”, “Gregory Harootunian” and “William Garth Johnson”.
Published in “2013”. Title of Journal article is “Are low income patients receiving the benefits of
electronic health records?” Published in the journal “Health Informatics Journal”. Pages “91-100”.
5. Insert a bibliography (You must use the built in tool) using the References template and APA style on
the last page of the document. The bibliography must be on its own page.
6. Use the citation tool to add the “Butler” citation to the end of the second paragraph on page 3 after
the word “privacy” and to the end of the third paragraph on page three after the word standards.
Add the “Crangston” citation to the end of the fifth paragraph on page 3 after the word
“information”.(Note: Remember that citations have the period after them and not before them).
