Introduction (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

I’m going to greet them and ask them about how they feel and if they enjoyed during the break time, after
that I will ask them about the plant and who did plant a flower or who knows where the flowers come from.
Time: 20 min

After that I’m going to have a box include flowers and they have to describe what they see”. I’m going to
ask them: what do you think is this? Can you describe it for me? Is it circle or triangle? Is it soft? And
before starting the activities I will introduce plant parts for them. I will teach them how plants grow and

what plant need to grow. Moreover, I will take them outside to show them that plants need sun, wate and air
to grow.

The activities will be for mixed abilities. I will put the low first then they medium and after that the high
level. While students are doing the activities, I will move around and ask them Question such as, can you

Assessment

To assess students understanding I’m going to move around to ask them questions such as, what is this and how did
you make this. How plants grow. Also, I will have a checklist to see who understood and who didn’t.

Theme: Growing in The Garden.

I taught this lesson on 28th of October. The theme was about plants and garden so, I taught
them a lesson about what plants need to grow. The learning outcome of the lesson is, identify
the needs of the plants. The lesson was to teach, students were involved with me and some of
them have some information. To make the lesson more enjoyable I took them outside to
apply what they’ve learned.

Introduction time
Warming up
To engage before starting the lesson, I brought real plant to show them the color and the
shape of the plant. I asked them few question to see if they have some background about the
plants. Also, I taught them that as human we need water, air and food to live. And I
connected it to the plant so they understood that also the plant need water, air and sun to live
in this planet. I saw some students who were misbehaving and to grab their attentions I told
them that who sit nicely will join me when I will go outside to see the plants. And it really
worked with them they start focusing and answering.

Activities time
Students did three different activities about plants need, one of the activity was designing a
plant. The second one was, tracing the plants needs in the worksheet. And in the last one they
will have a puzzle of a sun, air, water and plant and they have to solve it. The reason why I
use this activity a lot is because, I notice that students like to solve puzzle and to figure out
what is the picture.

Closing time
In the end of the lesson and after doing a quick review. I took them outside to see plants and
to try to plant a flower together. So, they can see how it will grow if we gave them water, air
and sun.

Next steps

Next lesson, I will focus on using different classroom management strategies to manage them
such as, praising them. Also, I could engage them more.
