An event that embodies confidence and camaraderie amongst its members in preparation for

region wide competitions and an occasion that brings together the new and old members of the Junior
Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) - PHINMA Upang local chapter. It is also and event that is held
annually at the beginning of the academic year to mellow down academic pressure and to enable the students
to have an insight of what is instored and what to expect in the upcoming year --- JPIA Day/ Stater's call.

Originally, the event was scheduled on August 28,2018 however, due to floodings and class
suspensions the event was postponed. Despite facing challenges that hindered some of their plans the JPIA
officers and members continued to show perserverance and determination to have the event pushed through.

In the morning of August 30, 2018 the JPIAns gathered in the university's Student Plaza to
commence the celebration of the JPIA day prominently known as Starter's Call. This year EXIMIUS, a body of
student leaders that envisions excellence and courage among its members thought of a theme focused on retro
games and arcades in association with the program's slogan: "Click Start to Play and Survive the Call."

Simulataneously academic and non-academic events were hosted. The academic events are :
Financial Accounting and Theory of Accounts (CAT Cup 1), Managment Advisory and Services and Cost
Accounting (CAT Cup 2) , Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions(RFBT) and Tax(CAT Cup 3) and
Government and Advanced Accounting (CAT cup 4). While the non-academic events were: Know-it-all,
Quizical.ly and Amazing Race.

During the said event the top 10 freshmen students were awarded with certificate of recognition by Dr. Teofila
S. Albay, CPA Dean of College of Management and Accountancy and Sir Gerard Q. Carpizo, CPA program head of
BSA and BSAT. The event was concluded by awarding the following winners:
