STUDENTS IN OLONGAPO CITY


I. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

What if the chosen path that one’s person had been taken didn’t match the job he’s into? Isn’t it a
waste of time? This is now the common question that this generation has to face when choosing
the perfect career that will fit is one of the most important and crucial decision that every person
has to make. This can be one of the measures whether an individual will be successful in the
future or not. This is one of the issues that arisen, namely: Job Mismatch, wherein the college
graduates whether in a bachelor, masteral and vocational degree is pursuing other works that are
not aligned with their preferred pathway. The seeks to determine the factors that Job Mismatch
of random graduated students here in Olongapo City. Wherein, This study aims to determine the
reasonss that causes job mismatch and why it is existing.

II. SOLUTION

The solution came from the respondents was very comprehensible, the solution that they’re wish
to give attention are:

 To disengage the discrimination to easily come in to the job related to the courses they
took up in college;
 However, there is a saying that it’s better to focus on the courses they completed to avoid
job mismatch.
 And, we should be confident enough to pursue what we want for our future, If ever you
failed at your first attempt, then be reminded that it is not the end of the world, we should
take every chances and opportunities in our lives” try and try until you succeed”.
 Lastly is the salary increase for their preferred courses for them to compensate the
profession that they have studied.

III. OUTCOME

The researchers conducted a survey for those graduated students here in Olongapo City, and the
outcome that they found out that out of 20 respondents, 14 are having the job mismatch. The
rate of graduated students are increasing as well as the rate of unemployed newly graduates, and
these people for the least are forced to find and be in a job that does not match their professional
courses. They also found out that the leading cause of job mismatch is the the salaries and
benefits.
